It’s Hoppier then a bullfrog with a stubbed toe: Yup, you read correctly. Red Brick now has a year round IPA called HopLanta! Look for HopLanta in 1/2 barrels, 1/6 barrels and 6 packs. Be sure to look for it in stores and restaurants near you!

Another IPA, another hop pun. Out of a 12 ounce bottle, on to the beer:

Hoplanta has a glow of orange with a reddish hue. A solid head is formed on the pour, leaving spots of lacing around the glass. The aroma brings sugar coated grapefruit to mind, also vague woody and caramel notes as well.

Vague citrus hits the palate first. Out comes a sweet and tangy tangerine. Bites of toffee add extra sweetness to this IPA. The vague citrus morphs into grapefruit, which adds a juicy aspect. Not too sweet. The beer brings a medium sized body and some chew, which I wasn't expecting in a standard IPA.

Hoplanta is hoppy enough and solid overall. It did well to clean up a spicy dinner.

Pours slightly less than clear with a barely off white head that has very good
retention with decent side glass lacing.
Aroma: Leads with Citrus and pine nut hops.
Taste: biscuit malts lead up front providing nice balance with the citrus like malts. Hops are
moderate and do not dominate the up front malts. Ends with a hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle > Mason Pint

A - Cloudy orange with a finger of thick foamy off white head, decent lacing.
S - Orange zest, big bready malt, some dank-ish pine and grapefruit.
T - Very east coast in style, sweet caramel and bread malt mix bitter grapefruit, orange and pine.
M - Decent bitterness, not too bad, lingers a bit too long.
O - OK IPA, very kind of run-of-the-mill
