Thanks to cpinto6 for this interesting beer, love anything with bourbon.

Pours a caramel colored fizzy 1/2 finger head, decent looking for this level of abv, fades at a med pace with some decent lacing, over super murky maroon caramel brown colored beer.

Nose is loaded with bourbon, nice woody bourbon, vanilla oak, boozy bourbon and some fruity bourbon with that even, then malts, caramel malts, a little nutty and toasty, fruity and nutty is the game, candy syrup, molasses, etc.

Taste continues where the nose left off, starting out right away with bourbon, lots of tasty fresh American oak, vanilla oak, toasted oak as well, tasty, bourbon gets a bit fruity even, and more nutty malts, before continuing into the malts. Caramel, candy syrup, molasses, brown sugar, nutty malts, toasted nuts. Fairly sweet, but blends well with the big malts and bourbon, and the booze comes with a nice warmth but again is camouflaged by the sweetness and big malts. Finish is semi sticky, a little syrupy and sweet but drier, light nutty malts, caramel, brown sugar, etc, and a nice vanilla toasty oak and bourbon lingering. Later on the taste profile and even more on the finish comes some chewy earthy slightly spicy hops that bitter just a bit but add more of that flavor profile late on the finish.

Mouth is med to fuller bodied, but fairly syrupy, quite a bit of carbonation, and some warming booze.

overall a nice beer, good malt profile, syrup flavors are decent fairly sweet but not too much, booze warmth hits about what it should, and the nice bourbon flavors come through well with a nice vanilla toasty oak, lots of it.

Poured a tawny brown with a half finger light tan colored head atop. The bourbon barrel plays a role but doesn't dmoinate the aromas, chocolored covered nuts, caramel, and roast all come together with bourbon barrel to make for a great complex nose.Mellow bourbon notes along with caramel malt flavors,a little vanilla and faint chocolate round it out.A nice barrel aged beer here, not over done with a great nose.

Thanks, cocoapuph!

Dark, murkey brown. Moderate levels of carbonation. Low to moderate stick. Not a particularly attractive beer, but I didn't expect a barrel-aged brown ale to look particularly pretty. Good enough, all things considered.

The aroma on this is fantastic. Lots of sweet, earthy, and bready malts combine nicely with a fairly dominant barrel character. Moderate oak, nice vanilla character, and a bit of the spirit as well. Very, very nice, and easily the best aspect of this beer.

The flavor somewhat falls apart, especially as the beer warms. There is some decent barrel character, but a lot of the malt character tastes old and stale, for the lack of better descriptors. There's a bit of an acidic character to the beer, overall, and quite a bit of oxidation.

Medium bodied with low carbonation.

I wish the flavor lived up to the aroma. Perhaps I should have opened this quite a while ago.

A: Deep brown and red in color. with a nice tan brown head. The head on this thing is dense, but rapidly starts breaking into frog eyes.

S: Definitely some oak; vanilla, oak, and a touch of corn. Behind that the beer comes across a little sweet, and a little tart. There is a caramel or brown sugar aroma, as well as a little bread. There is a lingering tartness to it.. almost a sour or acidic note.

T: That's bourbon. Vanilla, oak, perhaps a touch of cinnamon, but that may be a stretch. Some dark bread notes, as well as some dark fruit notes. Tasty.

M: Medium in body, carbonation is nice. The finish is a little watery.

O: Overall good, but far from great. Definitely heavy on the bourbon, and while the bourbon character isn't intense, it certainly blows out the base beer. Solid flavors, but I think it lacks the finesse I would want out a it.

Pours dark mahogany with a swirl of ivory haze. Lovely aromas of dark malt, caramel, pecans, and a healthy swig of Bourbon. Taste is similarly delicious, with more malt, nuts, more delicious Bourbon, and a touch of coconut. Phenomenal beer. Mouthfeel is smooth and slick, with a medium-full body and lowish carbonation. Love this beer, one of my favorites in recent memory.

Pours murky brown with some reddish hue. Very small head receding into some bubbles on the surface. Low levels of lacing.

Sweet caramel aromas backed by some boozy bourbon. Maybe a bit of vanilla and fig as well. Not terribly complex, but smells well balanced.

Sweet caramel malts greet the taste buds. The barrel then takes over as there are big notes of vanilla and a lot of booze. I like my bw's this way though. Booze cutting the caramel and creating a nice balanced treat. Again not much complexity, but good.

Medium bodied with carbonation perhaps a touch high. There is definitely a booze kick to this one as the barrel is prominently featured and doesn't try to hide alcohol much.

Very nice beer and was not expecting such a delicious treat based off other offerings from this brewery. Pretty simple, but the caramel and bourbon play well with each other. Sort of reminds me of a poor man's CW BBBW which is nothing to sneeze at. Would drink again in a heartbeat.

Bottle at The Distillery, Savannah, GA

A: The beer is very hazy brown in color. It poured with a thin off white head that left patches of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of bourbon from the barrel aging are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell. The taste is dominated by bourbon flavors and also has some associated hints of vanilla.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. A bit of heat from the alcohol warming is noticeable.
O: This is a really nice beers that is easy to drink because the underlying beer is lighter-bodied in nature as a brown ale.

A: Pours a very brownish/tan color, very murky and not the most appetizing looking appearance. This is about the only thing I can down the beer on is that it is not the prettiest looking sight.

S: Smells of roast and maltiness, but lots of smells of Bourbon, vanilla, woody smells, even more roastiness, overall a very very enjoyable smell.

T: Tastes of roast, bourbon flavors and just a very complex flavor, not what I would expect from Red Brick but was very very surprised and happy about it. The bourbon flavors do a very good job complimenting the brown ale flavors, and just a well rounded beer.

M: Very good mouthfeel, well balanced and smooth and feels great on the tongue.

O: Love this beer. Red brick came up with something amazing and I will be savoring every last drop that I can get my hand on.
