Pours nearly pitch black except for some deep reddish highlights when held to the light,a full one finger tannish colored head atop that clung nicely to the glass as it settled.Piney hops stand out most in the nose along with some of the spicy rye, dark fruit, and bitter chocolate,to me it's very much hop forward.Flavors have a dark bread component to go along with mild roast and earth, there is just a light shot of piney hops,to me the dryness-earthiness is the main flavor profile, only light brown sugar-like sweetness in the finish. To me it's a hopped up porter but I like it,I like it alot.Just solid,no compaints here.

12oz bottle into a FW tulip.

Pours a dark black with a nice beige head. Smell is very much like an imperial stout... i get a ton of roasted malts...but also with a good amount of hops in there as well. Taste is more of the same and very reminiscent of a hopped up imp stout, as opposed to a more IPA forward taste that you see in most other beers of this style. I definitely prefer it this way! Full bodied, medium carbonation.

Overall a surprise treat for me as a big stout guy. Recommended!

Fantastically dark pour, that looked like the deepest shade of brown, and had a two finger thick, beautiful khaki head sitting on top. The aromas were roasty, with typical coffee, toffee, chocolate smell seen in stouts, but with a touch of floral hops lurking in the shadows. The taste was astringent, dominated by burnt, cracked grain, coffee, and some bitter hops. The rye presence was hard to detect in the taste. There was some vanilla, and oak notes in the finish. Very silky mouthfeel, closer to a Porter here than a true Stout. If I can recall, this is the best beer I've ever had from Red Brick. Good job.
