V-Beaver liquors is located in the heart of Avon. The place is crammed full of beer, wine, liquor, cigars, and people. The ceilings are low and the lighting isn't very good. It is not dingy, but it felt strangely claustrophobic...like I was going to knock something off a shelf.

Q-The beer selection is decent -- not great -- for the mountains. There is a nice spread of Colorado craft from some smaller name breweries, as well as bigger craft names. Imports are so so. A lot of the beer sits out on a room-temp shelve, which doesn't normally bother me to much, but a good chunk of the beers were old, which is troubling.

Ser-The staff was friendly, but not necessarily helpful, as in they didn't every ask me if I needed help or offer suggestions. Typically that is OK with me.

Sel-I spied a good number of somewhat obscure Colorado beers, which is great for a tourist spot like this. I did not notice any whales, semi-whales, or rares. In fact, a lot of the craft here was just sort-of odd, which is fine. The mix-six selection took up a good chunk of cooler space, but it was pretty picked over and empty when I visited.

O-Beaver Liquors is not a bad spot to visit if you're in Avon, but there are better locations in the Vail Valley. I do have to give them props for their strong Colorado selection and I hear they deliver, which is nice. (1,347 characters)

What is in a name? Based on the sheer number of funny, clever, and dirty shirts sold at Beaver Liquors, a lot!

IMO, this place is borderline worthy of BeerFly. The selection is okay, I think there are other stores in Vail or Eagle that have better selections. Not much in the way of special release beers but the six-pack selection is solid. The beer coolers are filled with mostly Colorado stuff that you'd expect to find plus a few other West Coast breweries; just as much lame imports and BMC. The selection is nothing elite, nothing amazing... solid at best.

No help besides the cashier. Friendly people but no beer people.

If you are stuck in Avon, check out Beaver Liquors... (684 characters)

I have visited this place a few times now and they are always just so great to deal with. I have noticed that it doesn't matter to these guys who you are, they know you are a paying customer and they are willing to help.

This place could carry more micros but oh well. There are two doors that allow for single mix sixers to be put together by the shopper.

There is a wide selection of wine if you are looking for such a beverage.

The store next door offers a variety of shirts that would make anyone laugh. (515 characters)

Beaver Liquors was a nice place to visit after a day of skiing on Beaver Creek Mountain in nearby Avon. There was an excellent selection of single bottles, both in the back and in various other refridgerators throughout the store, and there were plenty of six-pack holders available and ready to be filled with my personal selections.

The selection was Colorado-heavy, nice for a traveler like me that can't get many Left Hand, New Belgium, Avery, RBC, and other CO brewery products back home. The staff was friendly and helpful, and you can't forget the extensive Beaver Liquors merchandise available next door--some of which, I'll warn, gets rather raunchy--but all in good fun. They also have an extensive wine cellar and liquor assortment available.

I'm definitely making a point to return to Beaver Liquors next time I'm out in ski country. (852 characters)
