22oz bottle poured into a snifter
A- a hazy orange amber with a big, creamy khaki head. Nice lacing and some alcohol legs.
S- Grapefruit, garlic/onion, and tobacco with a sweet malt underneath.
T- Big hit of booze and grapefruit bitterness up front with a very sugary malt sweetness. In the middle the sweet oniony flavor makes a quick appearance, but the grapefruity bitterness comes back to override along with a tobacco note in the malt bill. Ends fairly dry, bitter, with a bit of candy sugar and tobacco.. The malt bill on this one is decidedly different that most Imperial IPA's.
M- spot on medium carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel. Excellent.
O- certainly separates itself from the crowd of Impy IPA's. An excellent example, and certainly one to try just due to its uniqueness.
