I was lucky enough to grab a few bottles of the highly touted Hopsickle during a recent visit to Moylan's. This was my first chance to taste it and my friend has been telling me it is something to be had as far as hops go. I can't wait to enjoy it.
A: Single finger thick, white head lies flat across an amber/golden pour into my favorite pint glass. The head presentation fades in a matter of a few minutes.
S: Strong aroma of hops abound at first nose. Thick citrus notes are present and mild notes of hay or dust are noticed.
T: Sticky, chewy hops! A strong piney hop character rest heavily on my palate. The citrus carries over from the nose to the mouth.
M: Body almost presents as chewy. The strong hop character doesn't lend to as much bitterness as what would be expected.
D: A hoppy and impressive IPA. Definately different from your usual IIPA with bitterness taking a back seat to strong hop presence. Delicious!
