Got my hands on another bottle of this, however the last bottle I had was a screen printed 22oz bomber and this one has a paper label. Based on the way it tastes and smells versus the last bottle, I'm going to assume that my initial review was from a previous year's release.
Pours a really dark copper to red hue and wears a brilliant tanned creamy crown, generous ammounts of belgian lace appear on my glass as I swirl the brew around to release it's luscious aromatics.
Nice clean nutty caramel aroma with tons of fresh piney and citrus hop essence and a bit of dank, herbal cannibus. Smells awesome, so fresh and fragrant, I really enjoy the fact that even the aroma is so well balanced between malt and hop characteristics.
Good flavor too... Hopsickle has a very clean bittering, some grapefruit and lemony citrus fruits dance with piney and resinous hop notes, and some lightly sweet caramel malt to balance it all out. A bit of an alcoholic bite in the finish, but otherwise really nicely done.
Creamy, medium carbonation and medium bodied with a warm dry finish.
Huge drinkability on this one, its a damn shame this is a seasonal because if it were readily available fresh I would seek it out often. I only hope that the place I bought it from has more bottles next time I am there!
