Pours amber/light orange with white fizzy head that sticks around throughout. Spots of lacing, but pretty sparse.
Citrusy, piney, and spicy hops in the aroma. Maybe some honey and biscuity malts in the background, but it's really all about hops.
The taste follows suit. Smack-in-the-face bitterness followed by sweet, spicy hops. I've tasted pellet hops by themselves, and this beer is not much too different. Super bitter, resiny, and citrus. Grapefruit and orange peel. As it warms the bright citrusy flavors die down and it's just straight up bitter.
Mouthfeel is slick and resiny. I opened up this beer and shared with friend who each shared their own beers, and this is the only one I could taste. This beer fills the mouth with crazy bitterness and makes it hard to taste anything else. Not thick, but coats the mouth with flavor.
As this beer warms, and after drinking most of it, subtlety seems to go out the door and it's just a super bitter beer. The flavor is delicious, but by the end it kind of takes on a metallic like bitterness.
I feel like this is one of the hoppiest beers I've had. It really is almost like eating a hop pellet. The flavor is wonderful, but a bomber is a bit of a chore.
