A - Pours a brown/amber into the snifter with a nice off-white head that seems to last quite a while. Ruby red highlights. Lacing.
S - Piney hops, with a lemon zest note. Sweet pineapples, candy corn. Alcohol. Sweet, sticky, malty background.
T - Not nearly what the nose led me to think. I expected, sticky, sappy hop bitterness with a massive sweet malt. What it turns out to be is rather drab, fading hops, super sweet sugar-water, and a boozy smack. Rather uninspired at best, and unpleasant at it's worst. Kind of a mess.
M - Needs a bit more carbonation, and needs a bit more body. I expected big!
D - It's drinkable in that it's got some taste, but not so much to make me buy (trade for) another.
Notes: I'm not that impressed with Moylan's at all. Doesn't Marin contract brew through them? Why are their beers so awesome?

A: Pours an amber/red color, opaque with a tan head.
S: Citrus and fresh orange in a faint nose.
T: Nectary, cherry, citrus, plum, fig, raisin, decent malt backbone.
M: Full bodied and fairly smooth.
O: Definitely recommended. I'd love to try the barrel aged version.

Old Blarney pours a reddish color with a small lacing head. There is a fruity, and dry like aroma. The taste is dry, with a dry fruity flavor, and a mellow malty sharpness. Very easy to drink good full body. Overall its a solid barleywine however a bit on the boring side.
