Pours a rich copper with a creamy one finger head that that settles nicely leaving some light lace, deep intese fruity aromas with some underlying but very noticeable pine.Wow a big flavorful barleywine very Pacific coast piney and resiny upfront with a big fruity alcolholic finish the alcohol really hits.Just a sublime creamy mouthfeel and pretty slick going down the hatch and it warms the insides.Wow truley and awesome big brew a night cap that cant be beat.

650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10%. Beautiful reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, some mild roasty notes. The flavour is also malty with caramel and more distinct roasty notes, hints of sherry, also fairly distinct resinous hops. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Should not be drunk too cold.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Initially thought it may have gone flat, but it's a mild pour with a fairly heavy weight. Mahogany pour with a ring if beige head. Malt and molasses on the aroma, taste also is malt forward. A bit of a tang on the tail end, finishes sweet. Doesn't seem overly boozy.

This barleywine pours a dark brown, opaque color with a solid white head of foam. The smell is of caramel malts and not surprisingly, considering it’s a 10% barleywine, of alcohol. The taste is faintly of sweet caramel at first, but it quickly fades into a really earthy, barley, grain flavor with a noticeable yeastiness. The finish is a little bitter, with more hops than a standard barleywine and of course with prominent alcohol flavor like most barleywines. The finish is also nice and creamy more like a stout than a barleywine. The flavor is pretty good and most people would complement this barleywine on its drinkability, though for me that’s not necessarily a good thing since what I look for in a barleywine is intensity with a big body and this isn’t quite where my favorites are. Nevertheless, it’s a nice fall / winter beer with some nice flavors of the harvest.
