22 oz bottle poured into brandy snifter.
Appearance - hazy copper body, creamy head that doesn't really stick around long, and some lacing on the glass.
Smell - Not much of a smell, really. I was expecting more. Where are the hops?
Taste - BITTER HOP EXPLOSION. OK, there are lots of bitter hops maybe a bit of citrus hop hiding behind the bitterness. Quite a different hop experience than I am used to, but good none the less. After a bit of the hop burning out my taste buds, I sense some malt backbone and the smallest alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel - a bit thick, but a Double IPA should be. Swirling it around brings out even more sharpness from the carbonation working with the hops.
Drinkability - Well, a 22 is enough for me for today, but I wish this were available locally. I will want to get it again, but this will never replace Hopslam or Double Crooked Tree for me. On the other hand, emphasizing the bitter hops over the aromatic hops is an enjoyable change of pace.
