A - Poured out a clear caramel-colored with little to no head. No lacing either.

S - It smelled of caramel and sweet malt. No much going on here either.

T - The beer really improves here. Delicious sweet caramel flavor with grassy hop bite. It really is a great version of an Irish Red.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium-bodied ale.

D - Again, it's a delicious caramel/malty Irish Red ale. Not an impressive appearance or aroma, but it delivers on taste.

Growler from Albertsons. Haxy copper pour with small silky beige head. Big malt aroma, taste follows with caramel malt. Kind of mild, some toffee, finishes quick.

Poured into a glass mug, the appearance was a ruddy dark amber color with a stifled small white foamy head. Some runny lace here and there.
The aroma smelled like sweet caramel to biscuity malt playing with some peaty/grassy/earthy tones. Mellow nuts.
The flavor leaned towards a mellow malty smoothness. Some nuts. Sly aftertaste of nuts, earthy sweetness and caramel malts.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a sure fine aspect of being sessionable. Good carbonation. Some smoothness. Finishes clean with some malts.
Overall, I'd say a pretty nicely done Irish red ale I would be willing to come back to.

This beer poured a clear red/orange color. There was a moderate light tan head that settled quickly. Spots of lace.
Aroma of sweet malt and fruit.
Sweet, caramel taste. Kind of lacking.
Light-bodied.

From notes taken 05/05/17:

Barely hazy and otherwise crystalline tarnished copper. Fine and even head of tan to creamy beige, film-forming but still only moderate retention. A solid wall of frosty lace. Smells like cooked peas, though not as strong. Not my favorite, but also not as unpleasant as that sounds. Palate is still somewhat vegetal, with strong pea suggestions toward the finish but not bitter or stewey and well-balanced with a backbone of malt-tartness and caramel as well as notes of toast, nuts, and floral hops. Aftertaste is akin to peanuts. Medium-bodied, creamy-smooth with abundant and fine carbonation.

On tap at Moylan's Brewery in Novato, CA.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, and fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, nut, and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but nothing really stands out about this one.

Serving type: on tap.
