Stopped in here since I was close by, and it hasn't been reviewed in a couple years. Corner entrance, bar immediately on the left. Billiards and bowling further back in separate rooms, though I didn't bother to check it out.
Dark wood panelling, assorted framed pictures, with special emphasis on Schlitz breweriana. Very low bar lighting, bowling shoes stacked in little cubbys behind the bar. Lame taps, pretty much every assorted macro and pseudo-craft you could think of. Miller lite, Bud, 312, Fat Tire, Blue Moon, Harp, Guinness, you get the idea. They did have Bells Amber, but that was the only Bells. Typical selection, only about 1/3 of the bottle selection was craft. Settled on a Brooklyn IPA, the only IPA on the list, and about the only craft beer that stuck out from the 40 listed options. Had to ask for a glass, the bartender was ok, if not typical for the area and it's clientele. Sup bro, etc. Nothing on the beer list stood out, the majority was macro crap, and the bartender agreed with me. "Sorry, we don't really have any local craft beers..." Well, why is that? Out of touch beer-wise, and not a craft beer destination by any means...seek out only if you want to bowl in Lincoln Park with a mediocre beer selection.

This area of Southport has lots of "just-out-of-college-frat-boy" bars but Southport has a decent beer selection and is pretty cool for hanging out with friends. When you walk in the long bar takes up the first room with booths on the other wall. The bathrooms are up stairs to your right. They have some sidewalk dining areas but I seem to miss the 3 days in Chicago when it is nice to sit outside. IF you walk past the bar to the next room there are several pool tables but if you walk to your right there is the 6 bowling lanes.
They have 16 taps that are all craft beer with one cider and one BMC. The rest of the beer list is 43 bottles with the rest of the BMC and lots of run of the mill beers from Europe and the US. They did have some decent beers for 3 dollar specials. The Urquell is served in tall Urquell stranges that are nice.
The food is good pub grub with a slight deli feel to some of the sandwiches and a good selection of burgers. They also have some lunch specials on food but nothing to interesting.
The bartender new where all the beers were from and always stopped by about 3 sips from the end of the beer, but I got a little low-ball glass for my Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale which I thought was strange.
Nice place to hang out with friends but it gets really packed on weekends and parking is impossible. The brown line is about 1/2 a block a way if you really want to go.
