Located along 5th Avenue in western Brooklyn, this Key Food looks just like your typical supermarket from the outside. However, it boasts an excellent beer section for a grocery store. I'm glad I was in the area to check it out.

Right as you walk in, there's an endcap with a bright neon sign that declares "Beers of the World" and is stocked with, as one would expect, beers from all across the globe. There's also the traditional row of coolers in the back for the BMC dross and sixers of craft.

Quality is good, as everything I looked at was well within their dates. The set-up of the display is nice, and is generally separated by country. Lots of good breweries represented, including Unibroue, Dogfish Head, Samuel Smith's, Stone, Victory and many more. Quite a few beers from Poland and the Czech Republic as well. Much more than I was expecting out of an everyday grocery store. Cost is also quite reasonable, as everything is priced fairly. No complaints there.

Service is only about average, as it's still a grocery store and associates have about a million other things to do than answer silly questions about craft beer. One did point me in the direction of the restroom though, which was nice.

Key Food was a pleasant surprise during my trek around Brooklyn. Lots of good craft beer at supermarket prices is hard to beat. I wish my local grocery store had a selection even half as good as this does.

Located in a beer rich neighborhood of that beer blessed NYC borough of Brooklyn, this largish supermarket presents its beer gifts mostly in a few smaller shelving units right up front in the store. Don’t expect to find any rare treat, but be sure that you will be able to walk out with several solid offerings from the usual suspects. The ubiquitous brands are all here: Stone, DFH, Bklyn (natch.) Omme, Chimay, Duvel, Southampton (only one choice) etc. They also stock lesser quality micros and macros on an aisle towards the rear of the store. One major bonus of this place is the large parking lot that’s available for shopping here as well as at other 5th ave spots. Decent everyday kind of spot.

This is a good supermarket in Park Slope, Bklyn. The selection of beer is phenomenal for a supermarket, and the quality of the brews is usually quite good as well. The service, however, is just average supermarket service, but if you know what you want, it's no big deal. Good stuff can be had here, and it is one of four stores on the cobble hill/park slope brew store crawl! Try to pick up some limited 750's or bargains when you are here, but remember that some better stores are in the general area, like American, Eagle, and Bierkraft. Still this place is quite nice!
