Thanks to Adrock314 for this one from the recent Can Cans BIF. 12oz can (Date code undecipherable) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the expected clean, clear, bright, light gold color of the style, with a very energetic head that poured almost 2 inches, had very good retention and good lacing.
The aroma and taste were typical, but slightly below average for the style. Some grain, lots of corn-like features, and just faint floral hops. Also some notable sweetness.
The body was average for the style, smooth but had a sticky-sweet finish. Drinkability was fine, it would make a decent enough lawnmower beer. Overall, worth a tick if you see it, or if you're a fan of the style.

Stoney's is now made by Latrobe Brewing who I believe Brews quite a few other brands...
No longer brewed by Jones Brewing as the prior reviews' version.
Slightly more hop soul and sweetness than your average cheap swill of this type...
I paid $12 for a 12 pack of bottles of these so you can't argue with that.
Just interesting enough that it doesn't scare you away.
Probably a good beer for burgers, pizza and Etc.

Stoney's is a good basic beer. It always had a hint a sweetness to me, slightly more sweet than other beers of the same type. I would like to say it is from malt, but it is probably corn syrup. On the short for just a couple, the sweetness can actually be nice. If you're sitting down to drink a sixer or more though the sweetness tends to get cloying to me. Not a bad beer though, especially for a lower end price.

My very first beer - my uncle was teaching me how to fish (drown worm, drink beer). More than 30 years ago. Beer has changes as ownership of brewery has changed, but it still has the same spirit today as the older beer I grew up with.
L: A really pretty summer daytime beer.
S: A bit skunky for a canned beer, not anything exceptional, better than Rolling Rock.
T: simple, basic beer. thin and a bit seltzery, but adequate, especially on a float trip.
F: Like drinking improved water, thirst quenching but not a full beer experience.
O: Fond memories and realism combine so that I can say this is not the worst beer swill you can buy, nothing to be ashamed of having in your fridge, but not stellar either.

Probably one of the top five cheap beers out there. Taste blew me away. Reminds me of what home brew may have tasted like during prohibition. Must try if you're a hardcore lager guy. Give it a shot and be surprised. Better yet, have it with a shot.

The perfect American Lager. Rich, flavorful, and satisfying, this is my favorite beer. I have merely one bottle left, perhaps until the unlikelyhood that Stoney's would begin to be sold in New York State.

Poured from the pounder into a weizenflute.
A: Perfect clarity, 1 finger head that settles into a thin disk. no legs with minimal soapy lacing. Easily excitable back to a 4mm head with a swirl.
S: Sweet adjunct, does not reek of corn, more graininess. A shortbread kind of note, with faint faint grassy American hop. Hint of sulphur hiding way, way back.
T: Follows nose, with sweeter grain notes with very faint grassiness.
M: Medium-full, with velvety undertone. not dry nor cloyingly coating. Ultimate finish is slightly biscuity.
O: Jones is brewing this at the old Rolling Rock Latrobe Brewing, and the water makes this taste more like a well-filtered Rolling Rock and not old Stoney's. Still, a good regional AAL.
