Poured a frothy, rocky but small white head into a wine glass. The wine glass let it leave virtually no lacing from the light amber hue on the way down.

Smell was better than what I remembered this brew to be. The initial maltiness was there, present in the nose and palate. The floral hoppiness was not overpowering, albeit a bit dry for the style. Definately not an IPA, but lacking the smoothness of a pale ale. Still, I enjoyed it.

I liken this beer to be a Pilsner/Pale Ale Hybrid. Call me crazy, call that unlikely, but that's what I got from it. I would not seek it out, but would never turn one away.

Been drinking craft 3+ years now, after many hundreds of "had ratings", this is my first proper review. Saw a few reviews of this beer that weren't matching what I experienced, so had to get my 2 cents in.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into shaker pint. Very airy, white 2-inch head. Reduces to a quarter-inch cap that stays forever. Thin airy lacing remains on every side of the glass all the way down. Color is one I haven't often seen in a simple pale. Unfiltered ruby with golden sunset. Nose is lemony hops, some pale malts. Taste is more malty than the nose predicted. Nice smooth robust malty goodness, surrounded by faint fruity hops. Mouthfeel is almost "thick", especially for a simple pale. Drinkability is exceptional, as that nearly thick pale ale never gets "chewy" at all -- it just goes down very easily. A bit of unexpected watery finish actually makes me rush to the next gulp. This beer is really fun and enjoyable -- wish I had more than one. I think it's mis-named - not hoppy at all, and doesn't need to be, and doesn't even seem to be trying to be hoppy. The note on the bottle reminds that pales should be balanced, not overly hoppy. This beer lives up to that reminder, very well.

The beer has good grapefruit and floral hop aroma.

The flavor follows with some American hops in the front of grapefruit and citrus peel. Then the beer has a substantial malt backbone, with surprisingly even some alcohol on the back. This is a bit of surprise considering the ABV.

One of the poorer, yet somewhat reasonable attempts at the style.
