Served on tap at the Pub in Mendham NJ to kick off New Years Day (just found my old tasting notes)
Pours very dark black with small foam ring. Oaty nose that is quite prominent. Dark chocolate too. Rich roasted flavor. Shovels of oats. Creamy light milk milk back. Touch of sweetness at the end that blends into a mild hop bitter. Very enjoyable, not overly lactosed like some milk stouts can be.

Appearance: dark mahogany almost black color. Opaque due to the darkness. Just barely a foamy head that fades slowly and leaves a good lacing.
Smell: most notably espresso and oatmeal. Some chocolate and a slight sweetness too.
Taste: opens with mild espresso with a shot of milk sugar. Lots of oatmeal with a a slight amount of chocolate.
Mouthfeel: super light. Almost too sweet but saved by a little espresso bitterness
Overall: a decent beer. Too much espresso for me, it really doesn't mold to well with all the oatmeal in my opinion
