Well lets face it for $19.99 a case this beer aint to bad.
A-clear yellow in collor
S- not much smell their is a very mild hint of corn and grain
T- very smooth not much taste
M- its so smooth that their is no after taste
D- For a cheap beer its not bad for the hot summer days when you just want something light.
Drank half the bottle while doing this review and it seem to me that the longer i let this beer sit and come up to room temp the more taste came out of this beer.
I would buy this beer again to keep on hand for the people who come to my house that are into the lighter beers.
I would take this macro beer over a bud or a coors any day

I used to travel into Pennsy from Jersey to get cases of this in 16oz returnable bottles. I swear it tasted better than the 12oz ones.
That aside, Straub is a very good AA lager.
Pours a nice light yellow, maybe a tad weak on the head.
Aroma of malt and some grassy hops. A hint of corn sneaks in.
Tastes almost exactly like the nose.
If you can find this brew in your area, just make sure it's fresh!

12 oz " Greenie" bottle poured into a shaker pint glass. Look is clear, pale straw color with a white head that falls quickly to a thin cover. Later the head disappeared altogether. Active carbonation bubbles in the body. Smell is grain, grass, corn. Taste is grain and corn up front, mild grassy hop in the middle, finish is malt and corn leftover. Feel is light, good carbonation leaves a bit of zip on the tongue. Finish is fairly clean. Overall, I'm biased as I grew up about 5 minutes from the brewery and Straub is a big presence in town, but this is a simple, easy to drink, unassuming yet flavorful AAL that's great at camp, after mowing the lawn, or hanging around the Eternal Tap.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, head is off white and presents 1 finger thick, head dissipates quickly to nothing, light ring along glass sides.
Smell is feint grains and light grassiness, some barley malt but mostly corn sweetness.
Taste is well done for the style: light sweetness, more balance with the barley and corn, light, very light hop grassiness.
Mouthfeel is strong carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness - lingering carbonic bite.
Overall a simple but slightly more balanced adjunct lager.

(12 oz bottle, bottled 02/09/22; purchased cold 6-pack from Colney Deli, Phila... poured into a 14 oz mug)
L: brilliantly-clear, pale straw, brassy-colored liquid; semi-tight white foam, not much... razor-thin collar barely clinging; no lace
S: typical adjunct lager aromas: pils malt, hints of bubblegum and sulfur... perhaps a bit of malt/corn syrup used in this... for this style, the potency and depth is rather bold
T: relatively full-flavored, rounded grainy foundation with a leafy, grassy touch in the middle, finishing off with a subtle corn note and later some toasty grain husk... mild lingering bitterness, maybe partially tannic; later gets drier... moderately bready
F: like on the palate, round, almost plush body... whisper-soft, drop finish; bit of latent carb tingle and grassy-bitter bite... actually has a bit of substance; not far off from a malt liquor in textures
O: striking expression with this, my first Straub... a bit more umph than is typical of its ilk... rather enjoyed this!... not complaining about having 5 more to go (1975)

Pours very pale and clear with lots of visible carbonation. Big peristent white head. Smells like light malt, a little corn perhaps. Taste is balanced- a little malt sweetness, a little grassy hops, a little corn. Bready. It's got plenty of flavor and aroma. Feel is typical for the style- a little watery and well carbonated. If you said this tastes like a beer and smells like a beer you wouldn't be far off. And yet I like this very standard American lager. A good go-to if you want a good old regular beer every once in a while with your pizza and pretzels and what not.

Having had thousands of beers, I don't write many reviews these days. But I feel that this one warrants it.
If you're like me and enjoy a high quality AAL, then look no further. This is easily one of the best I've ever had, and believe me when I say that I've had a few.
Everything you'd expect and more. It looks as it should, plenty of lacing and a clean presentation.
It smells of fresh summer corn and rich two-row. Slightly dusty, which is a real plus.
This 16oz refillable bottle tastes extraodinarily fresh. I'm not getting much if any hops. But that fresh summer corn and the malt spine are delicate yet provide a solid backbone. The finish lingers for some time, unlike the majority of AAL's. Plenty of flavor with a touch of sweetness.
It feels quite soft, yet it's crisp and easy to put back. It's not often I use luxurious and AAL in the same sentence, but I am with this one.
If you live in western Pennsylvania, do yourself a favor and pick yourself up some Straub American Lager. I waited far too long to do so myself. But now that I've found it, it'll be in my fridge on a permanent basis. I'm already looking forward to not only a trip to the brewery in St. Mary's, but my next glass of American Lager.
A true AAL classic.

I buy this great drinkable beer whenever I'm in Western PA and bring a case back. Reminds of Coors when it was only sold to the seven western states....clean, smooth taste that doesn't get tiring. No after taste like some light beers. Pours golden yellow, with a nice head. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Smells of hops and flowers. Wish it were shipped to New England.

Yellow pour a very light nose to this beer . Some slight graininess but very mild . Doesn’t taste that different from a regular non craft beer you’d buy from the supermarket.

Poured a slightly hazy pale yellow with a one finger fizzy white head that quickly left just a film. Very light lacing was present. Nose was very light grain and cracker. Taste followed the nose with corn and a bit of seltzer water thrown in. Light medium body with a fizzy carbonation like seltzer. The description here says 4.3% abv. My pint bottle says 4.1.
