12oz bottle from brewery. Deep, clear amber pour, minimal head. Toasty caramel malts in the aroma and taste. FReally full feel, well rounded. Solid amber.

I wrote a very nice, lengthy review commenting on how I'd "found" this beer again after a number of years. But when I pressed "submit," the web page reloaded. Go figure. I'll try to summarize what I wrote: All malt (nose and taste), so fairly one-dimensional in that regard; but also very drinkable. No off- flavors and a great 4.1% ABV so you can put back a few. I'll definitely pick this up again. I bought the 24 pack "suitcase" of cans two days ago. I'm already six cans into it. ;)

DATE: September 19, 2020... OCCASION: would have loved to take part in the online Oktoberfest tasting, but a good, busy day leads to me settling for a beer I have meant to rate for more than a decade... GLASSWARE: Man Skirt willibecker... pours a dark amber, chestnut body that demonstrates a steady stream of upward-moving bubbles.... its head is off-white, creamy, and staunchly quarter-fingered... toffee, sweet cracker malts, some caramel, a bit of metallic ping, and a basement nuttiness that seems to define the traditional Pennsylvania lager... in some ways, this smells like home, my early drinking days and candy all at once... its first sip is thin, slightly oily, smooth, and short on its finish... simple in its consistency, at 4.1% ABV, equally easy on the senses... nutty, with toffee, light caramel, some metallic elements, and a bready finish... in a way, this is a nice, slightly more flavorful version of the usual adjunct lager...

Pours clear amber with white head that falls off to a collar. Some lacing left on the side of the glass. Aroma is non descript malts and grain, but it's not overpowering. It's pretty easy and clean overall. Taste is rich, nutty, roasty malt. Some herbal, earthy hops in there too. Sweet in the beginning, a nice bitterness in the end that balances everything out. Feel is smooth, light to medium body. Good carbonation to keep it lively in the mouth. Overall a nice, easy beer from Straub. I'm a fan!

In State College.
LOOK: Pours a very light and clear amber in color with a beige to tan robust head that has average to good retention and
does leave some decent side glass lace.
AROMA: Definitely pick up some caramel as well as roasted and bread malts.
TASTE: Caramel is sweet and the malts are quite roasty.
Some bitter hops in the drying after taste.

American Amber Ale by Straub Brewery, a gift from @nicholas2121. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, this has a two finger thick off-white head, spotty lacing, and a profoundly amber body.

Smells like rich grains and hearty, caramelized malts.

I taste pretty much what's described in the aroma with a touch of that caramelized malt sweetness.

Medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

Amber Ale by Straub Brewery gets an overall 4.25 from yours truly.

American Amber brewed by Straub Brewery with an ABV of 4.10% this American Amber/Red lager pours out of a 12oz glass bottle into a pint beer glass. The color is a nice deep amber color with a thick white head. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is Rich with sweetness, mixed with grains and malts. You also pick up a small amount of hops bitterness at the end. So far American Amber is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with mirror roasted goodness mixed with grains and malts. A well balance brew he , goes down nice an easy not high in ABV just a smooth easy drinking brew. The body of American Amber is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balance to it. This brew would go nice with any occasion, lunch or a light dinner. The mouth feel is Bold, Clean, Crisp, Smooth, and Refreshing. Overall I think I am going to give American Amber a solid 4 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again givin the opportunity too. Straub Brewery, did a real nice job with this amber ale.

Dirty copper color.Like their other beers, it's crystal clear. Moderate lacing from the smaller head.

Cloyingly sweet with strong milk overtones. Light bittering hop.

Fairly pedestrian. Nothing is wrong but the flavor is bland. It's drier than the smell indicates. Good body with a neutral carbonation level. Short aftertaste from the bread-like finish.

Looks a ruby red, almost no head or lace. Malty beer with corn and caramel tastes. Almost too sweet but likable.

12oz bottle, part of a mix a six from giant eagle in altoona. bottled 9/19/17, so under 2 months old.

clear amber red body, decent off white head, okay lacing

aroma is simply of sweet caramel malt

ugh. the taste does not appeal to this palate one bit. the sweet sticky caramel malts are overpowering. could not finish this.

mouth is a bit above thin, finish is nauseating

tried to be objective, but this was one of the more unpleasant beers I've ever had.

On tap at Maggie's Farm in Pittsburgh, PA.

This one pours a clear dark-ish amber, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells pretty basic- some light caramel and toasted bread, and the slightest kiss of hops.

This is very simple, and there's not too much to it. There's a slight metallic aspect, and a hint of malt sweetness, with a slight hop bitterness. It's simple, but it's clean and very drinkable.

This is light bodied, crisp and pretty clean, with a good level of carbonation.

This is a good alternative to something like Yuengling.
