Just right color for this style, dark with lighter edges. Aroma nice, coffee/chocolate/sweetness. Taste...ok, a sort of dark, bitter chocolate. Body a little light for this big beer style.

On tap at Dale Bros. Brewery in Upland, CA.
Pours a hazy reddish-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, and slight chocolate aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel and chocolate flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with solid cocoa and roast qualities that are slightly better in the smell.
Serving type: on tap.

Pours translucent dark brown with ½ inch of off-white head and a fair amount of lacing.
Smell is roasted malt, burnt wood, caramel and faint coffee.
Taste is slightly sweet with roasted malts, subtle molasses and faint coffee. ABV is very well hidden.
Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation.
This is a fairly standard, light bodied porter. A decent effort.
