Pours a golden color with a white head. Strong yeast aroma with some bready malt and a pronounced graininess. A little bit of grass and floral hop aroma. The flavor is sort of bland. It’s just sort of sweet with a little bit of malt flavor. It’s mostly just grainy and bland.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a light amber color with a white head. The aroma is toffee and earthy hops. The flavor is toffee, earth and some citrus hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nothing special here, but nothing too offensive either.

On tap at Dale Brothers Brewery in Upland, CA.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and biscuit aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is drinkable but nothing really stands out about it.

A - 22oz Bottle with gold plastic wrap around a plain cap.
I poured half into a pint glass. Great clear golden color

S - waited one minute then smelled. Faint grain and a little alcohol waffe.

T- Light malt with a pellet hop(grassy) finish. Ok
Wait... whats that strange flavor twinge in there? Oh.. It's a Califorina Common. I don't taste any buttery stuff as others.
Carbonation is perfect.

M - Mouthfeel I got a very slight sour note...still ok
somewhat exceptable for this style.

D - I wouldn't drink this beer as a first choice but I like the style
and tradition of Cal. Common. We all know the benchmark

206th review on BA
tap to pint @ Vince's Spaghetti in Pomona, CA

App- A nice coppery color in the glass with a 1/2 in head. The waitress knew how to pour a pint.

Smell- Not too much here. Some small hops and some light malt.

Taste- A nice malt with a touch of spice I guess. I know its a steam beer and I have only had two of them so the flavor profile is a bit off to me.

Mouth- A bit light on the feel with a medium kind of heavy carb level. A bit thick.

Drink- 2nd time ive had this beer. 1st time on draft. Wasn't too bad, wasn't too good. Just a nice run of the mill beer.

Described as an amber lager in the California Common style per the Dale Bros Brewery, I have my hands on a bomber of one. From Walnut Liquorette to my house, on to the beer:

Pale orange color with a clearish body and a thin white head that slowly fizzes away. Clean aroma, some pale malt sweetness and little else. The taste starts off and remains somewhat pleasant. Earthy upfront, then clean notes of hops come into play. As bits of caramel are detected, the grains leave a drying finish. It becomes a bit sloppy with a cooked cereal note and a mildly thin undercarbonated body at the end.

Not too bad, though its loose ends could be tightened.

A - A nice golden color. Very little head that disappears quickly with no trace.

S - A bit of a sweet smell but fairly weak aroma overall.

T - Like the smell, slightly sweet with hints of honey and wheat. Not very strong but not watery also.

M - Very little carbonation and does not engender any real tongue sensation.

O - Overall, a very average beer. A slightly sweet, fairly light beer that is easily drinkable but won't set the world on fire with what it does, which is nothing exceptional, but not I wouldn't classify it as a bad beer either.
