I've been to Rudz on more than a few occasions, to see music, comedy, to hang out, and just to stop by for a pint and burger.

The atmosphere is pretty chill, everyone hanging out, not a care in the world. The beer list is better than most bars you go to, but if you're looking for someone out there, you might want to try looking else where. The food is pretty damn good, but if you hit it up for lunch, just expect a bit of a wait. I never really spend too much there, and that's talking about nights when you have too many. Even when SA divines come out, you shouldn't expect to break the bank.

This is definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area. You're for sure to see people enjoying themselves, hear good music, eat good food, and find a pint of something you'll enjoy.

There is a lot to like about this place, but it is not perfect. A small bar made of tiles to the right. Some old uncomfortable tables to the left, and some seating outside. It looks like there is an upstairs as well, but I did not check it out. Dim and dirty. The service can be hit an miss. Sometimes a guy behind the bar that seems uninterested. Other times, a very enthusiastic and funny bartender. Food is just standard pub grub. A very average and greasy burger, some wings, and sandwiches.

The beer list is pretty good. Three taps each of Real Ale and Saint Arnold. A few other micros, imports, and BMC. There is a cooler of bottles, but I did not really look at it. The quality of the taps seemed fine. It is great that they have some good Texas crafts. You would also be surprised with some of the special beers they get sometimes as well. Avery Rumpkin, Stone 10.10.10, Saint Arnold Bourbon Stout on occasion, and they got a few kegs of Real Ale's new Highlander (they receive these all without fanfare and hype).

Not a bad place at all. I wish the service was more attentive at times, and the food better. Though, all in all a good place to relax and have a few with some friends.

Rudyard's, or Rudz, is just North of Westheimer on Waugh, West of Montrose. Dive bar all the way with a respectable selection of craft beer on draft and in bottle.

Relatively small place, small bar, a few inside tables, as well as a few tables out in the front. Darts are big here...you've got five dart boards to choose from, and dart tournament trophies add to the plethora of beer eye candy on the walls. Live music plays frequently. Good vibe, filled with locals.

Good service. John stays on top of things and doesn't mind the occasional chat.

Beer selection is okay. They've got 22 or so taps right now, four are Saint Arnold, three are Real Ale. Bottles include Chimay, Duvel, Delirium, Unibroue, Anchor, Sam Smith's, Sierra Nevada, etc. Not the place to find what's new and interesting, but there's no reason to dismiss the place either.

Diverse food menu includes pizza, burgers, sandwiches, Tex-Mex, Po-Boy's, etc., though I haven't tired anything yet.

Cool little place.
