I think I'm pretty lucky to live 5 minutes away from this place. They have a pretty nice selection of everything, not just beer. But I do love their beer selection. Service isn't a problem usaually, as on nights that they expect to get busy, they staff accordingly. Have been able to get a few things I couldn't get in a few other "nicer" stores and always come here to find something new. Prices aren't bad at all, and the beer is usually fresh, except for some singles (Check the dates!). And they always have glasses for sale as well.

Don't expect much help here. I was working here for a few months but was let go for "Taking to much time with customers." Guess they don't like their patrons... So go in with a plan cause it's a very good stop.

Edit: They currently have Sink the Bismark! and Tactical Nuclear Penguin, but you have to ask for it.

What good is package store if they will not sell to you? I am 23 years old and they refuse to sell to me because I have a duplicate drivers liscense. I even showed them my pistol permit which verifies that I am over 21 and yet they still refuse to sell to me....hell I'm even balding and they still don't believe I'm over 21 also as an added little bonus I stopped in one night and asked for the Turin chocolates that are filled with either bailey's or kahlua...the manager told me that they are illegal in Connecticut. ... I work in a liquor store that sells them so she is woefully ignorant

Pulling in to their parking lot was quite a bit rough, time for them to fill some pot holes. The outside of the building needs a facelift as well. To the beer isles. Well there is one main isle, half craft and the other half BMC. The coolers had some craft as well, notably growlers of Dead Guy, BBC and bombers from Stone, Rogue, and BBC. In the main beer isle it was a good mixture of American and Imported good stuff. The usual Rogue and Stone line up with a few unusual. Sculpin was on the shelf, at $9 it seems like the going rate in CT. A mixture of polish and other eastern europe beers. A few organic beers in the isle over. One or two workers did ask if I needed help and I kindly turned them down. Overall a descent store with average prices for CT.

If your looking for beer this is a must stop store without a doubt. A huge shelf bottle selection of singles and some packs that will literally make you dizzy as you try to figure out what the hell you want, feels like a grocery store of beer. They've got hard to find brews and something for anyones style choice and taste. Im sure there are many stores with larger selections, but i have not personally been to one yet. Check this place out and make sure you wheel a shopping cart with you over to the beer, your going to need it. The staff were mostly useless but i dont need any help with my browsing experience anyway. I went looking for a couple of beers, and got bombarded by a choice of hundreds, and overall left happy and will have to be stopping back in for some more.

Came across this place on a beer expedition and let me say I'm glad this was my first stop. There's only one way to describe this place and that is Overwelming. I think this is the only store I'll be going to for a while haha. Huge selection of craft brews, hard to not find what your looking for. After about a half hour of just looking over there entire selection I realized I should probably decide what I want. They had ALOT of brews i'd been searching for and alot I've never heard of but looked awesome. Like mentioned below me some of the dates on the singles were questionable but overall a fresh supply of everything. Definitely make it a point to come here if your near the area, you won't regret it.

Terrific selection of singles, growlers, and six packs. Well arranged, almost mouth-watering assortment.

Well worth visiting if you're in the area.

Stopped myself at sixty bucks, could of easily spent double.

As stated well above, service really isn't a factor in a store this large; there's plenty to browse; wines and spirits also in abundance.

The whole way home I regretted not buying the "2007 NY Giants Super Bowl" special Bud quart keepsake.

A pleasant surprise as the exterior gives no hint as to the outstanding beer within.

This is the kind of place that I wish the BA reviewing would have the option of N/A for service because I never ask for any at a place like this. I know where I want to go, get what I want and the most interaction I have with someone working at the place is them ringing up my total. There is nothing bad about this at all. They are not selling themselves as the best staff dealing with the most obscure hard to find beers etc.

As for the beer I simply cannot complain. It kept me alive in Wallingford for most of the summer. I could get anything I wanted for a very good price. The beer shelves were stocked with plenty of american micros and a decent amount of european beers to boot. Be sure to check the cooler because that is usually where the Hooker is. Definitely make it down there because it beats the hell out of anywhere else as far as selection and price goes.

Located right in the middle of Wallingford on Rte. 5,Wallingford Wine and Spirits is what a wharehouse liquor store should be.They have an outstanding selection of beers.I was able to find many beers here I couldn't find at other locations, and if I did see them somewhere else the price was cheaper here.I found an Ommegang gift pack here that was 4 dollars cheaper than anywhere else. The service isn't the best I've ever seen, but it's very easy to navigate around the store by yourself. If you are in the area give this a try.

I would agree with the above review with a few caveats. When I was there, they did in fact have Thomas Hooker Imperial Porter, as well as various other seasonals. Perhaps it's not the kind of selection that a truly superior store would have, but considering it's the best option around (owned by the same people as Amity), I don't think I can do much better. Also, I have found their staff to be helpful, if not necessarily knowledgeable. Being a small chain with a large inventory, their buying power is pretty good and superb compared to the other, smaller places smattered around Wallingford. If they don't have it, they can probably get it and, judging by my limited interaction, will do so happily.
