On tap at Delaneys in New Haven.

A: Hazy pale orange yellow golden flemish color with light head

N: Lots of wheat, some citrus, a touch of spice and yeast, pretty typical for a wit

T: Again typical Belgian wit, wheat and yeast hit at first, followed with very subtle fruits, it has a strange biscuity taste on the back of the tongue that I can't really pick out, its pretty light and almost watery, no real spice on the taste, but still pretty creamy

M: Very light and watery, a little creamy and pretty frothy carbonation

F: Very light and dry but has a semi sweet taste, here is where it gets the most watery I think, little earthy, wheaty finish, not much there

Final thoughts: Meh, its a pretty basic Belgian wit but almost watered down. Very light, some wheat and creamy biscuit, pretty bland overall

Pours hazy honey-like yellow, thin white lacing.
Smell of lemon peel, lots of herbs, a floral note too, clove, some banana and yellow apple, touch of wheat.
Taste follows the nose, some extra crisp lemon, clearer wheaty bread, otherwise a nice mix of herbs and spices (coriander, clove, faint lemongrass, faint juniper berries), floral notes and a tiny bit of grassy hops. Finishes with dry wheat, low bitterness, but retains most of the spices.
Light body and medium carbonation.
Run-of-the-mill wit, nice, but doesn't really impress with anything.

Poured from a corked & caged 750 mL bottle into a Brewer's Art goblet. Moderate hand. Stamped best by 11/09/12. Oops. I just stumbled across this one, forlorn and forgotten, mixed up with some random wines in my cellar...

A: Hazy, pale golden yellow. 1 finger of white head with ok retention. Minimal lacing.

S: Belgian yeast. Biscuit. Coriander. Floral/herbal notes that are unique for the style. Peach.

T: Tart with light spice initially. A herbal/floral quality emerges and leads into a dry finish. A bit astringent on the end with some lingering citric/lemon tang. Interesting flavor profile for a wit.

M: Moderate carbonation with a light body. Borders dangerously close to watery, but does go down easily.

O: This is probably past its prime - my bad. Probably not a totally fair assessment, so I'll focus on the positives. This is an interesting wit - reminds me of a Berliner weisse combined with a gruit. The herbal element is cool and I am enjoying the tartness. I'll have to try it a bit fresher.

Prost!

A lot of Palm beers on tap at this place in Gent. This witbier has a typical spiced lemony coriander aroma. Similar to Hoegaarden in regards to the flavor profile. The mouthfeel however is different. The good-a quick crisp finish. The not so good-a thin mouthfeel and a bit too drying. Good drinkability but just average for a wit.

Pours light golden/ white with a foamy white two finger head. Smell is very grainy and not much more. Taste is a lot like the smell . Very clean and crisp, bubbly. Finishes a little dry as expected. Not much goin on here, grainy white and light, good for an entry level Belgian drinker but a bit. One dimensional for me.
