Paid 2.59 at Hollingshead. Medium sized head that dissipated to a finger size. Slightly cloudy for a kristallweizen, yet still was see-through. Taste was a bit fizzy, There was no sense of awe as I drank this beer. Luckily it does adhere to the Reinheitsgebot: yeast, water, hops, and malt. Taste was a bit malty, biscuity at the end. All in all it was a decent kristal weizen, perhaps i'll buy it again.

Appearance Lovely, light orange in color and very clear, The head was big and tight, with the tiny white foam bubbles leaving a bit of lacing on the way down.
Smell Beautiful, musty, yeasty fruit make up the nose of this weizen. The big orange and light banana lead the way. The German wheat is here as well. This one smells terrific.
Taste This is a decent bier. The subtle fruit flavors come out well at the taste. The light yeast is there as well, making this one a light, easygoing kristal weizen.
Mouthfeel Super-carbonated and fluffy yet solid medium in the body.
Drinkability Finally a good offering from Allgauer. Ive had better, but this one is a player for sure.

Poured from a bottle like the one in the picture, Allgauer's kristalweizen had a clear light orange color and a massive bubly white head that shrank down to something manageable after five minutes. Lots of tightly packed streams of carbonation kept the head alive and aided in leaving streaky lace behind.
The nose had the usual crushed wheat and doughy malt aromas. Missing, or at least sorely lacking, was the familiar banana and clove aromas I'm fond of. Instead, I got a light apple-and-pear aroma akin to my boy's fruit juice.
The taste was an improvement over the smell. Up front was a lighter, more restrained bready malt flavor. Some sweet fruitiness - but not the banana taste - came through mid-palate. The finish had a mild spiciness, vaguely clove-like. The feel was light, dry and crisp.
Overall, this brew was pretty refreshing but really not much to get all excited about. I'll pay the same amount for a similarly sized hefeweizen from Paulaner or Brauerei Weihenstephan and be happier.

Pours a hazy brown brew with a large white head and heavy carbonation.
Smell is citrus and spice with a candy sweetness to it. Smells like creme brulee
Taste is mild sweetness and very fruity. The standard clove flavor of this style is present. As you drink it the sweetness goes away and leaves a dry spice flavor.
Mouthfeel is good.
Pleasant to drink, a good choice for a Kristallweizen.

I really enjoy kristallweizen's and this one is no exception. although lighter than most I've had it still held up.
-Poured into a weizen glass it had a slight chill haze, orange/golden color with massive small carbonation and a huge frothy head that topples over the tall glass...beautiful.
-smell of some bananna , mango, tropical type aroma. Tastes similair nothing offensive just a standard kristall which is something to be proud of.
Drinkability is almost at 5 as it went down like a two bit whore, quick easy and without much effort but with high reward.

Presentation: Wow, my fridge is full of Allgäuer Brauhaus beers it seems, I must have raided damn near the whole range after my weekend trip to Hi-Time sin Costa Mesa this weekend. The Allgäuer Fürstabt has a Silver colored main and V-Shaped neck label with the word Kristallweizen in a small thin red band. Painted white crown cap completes the presentation. Just as the BA Database picture my sample arrived in a 1 Pint 0.9 fluid ounce standard tall looking brown glass bottle. No strength or observable freshness date. Lots of German on the label, but a small partial English translation lists this as Premium Weizen.
Appearance: Clear orange body that transgressed from amber to copper as it bent the fluorescent light from my desk lamp. Nice pillowed head that was a transient beige color throughout. Some lacing but not much, a little smattering here and there is all that remains. Average conditioning.
Nose: Clove like Wheat body with some sweet banana toffee in the back end. Upfront musty odor soon makes way for a much cleaner fruity feel and some yeast in the middle. Lovable smell.
Taste: Nothing huge here, nothing even outstanding, but this is an all-round terrific drinker that has a nice fruity wheat beer middle and a nice subliminal yeasty feel that runs with the banana and clove and balances it extremely well.
Mouthfeel: Soft and smooth, the lower than usual carbonation allows the cloves to break through quickly and add a banana toffee feel on the tongue, a little chewy after the swallow.
Drinkability: A Half-Litre, easily emptied .. wohin ging es?
Overall: Cost $1.99 like most of the other Allgäuer Brauhaus beers that I picked up this weekend. This one was emptied in literally no time whatsoever, damn drinkable stuff.
