Poured into a pint glass from a 16 oz. screw top can. Pour is a ightly hazed copper in color and showing a half inch of off white cap which offers decent retention.

Aroma of muddled caramel malts and some light hop notes. Nothing quite distinct and a bit old though nothing to deter either. Taste offers a slight improvement over the aroma with a bit of bready citrus taste and feel and a light bitterness. Offers a pleasantly long finish compared to expectations. Okay overall and fairly drinkable given the unobtrusive delivery of hop/malt. A bit too 'NorthWest' is style for me given malt makeup yet better than feared I guess from this brewery.

Clear, orange amber with a soapy, white head that leaves some nice lace on the glass. The nose is grassy, orange blossom, sweet malt and some citric hop notes. Not a bad tasting beer but more ESB than IPA. Sweet and malty (Munich malts? Interesting choice..) with candied grapefruit and caramel flavors and while hops are certainly present this is not a hoppy tasting brew. Creamy and medium bodied. A decent beer but not what you'd expect from a "dry hopped, double hopped" IPA.

Poured into a mass. Two and half fingers of head on a hazy, medium straw colored body.
The aroma is orange juice and hay.
The taste is mild bitterness, orange sweetness and finishes with a dry bitterness.
The texture is soft with moderate carbonation.
A bit tame on the hops for an IPA but quite drinkable and the huge can is attractive.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

"Cold fusion filled"!? Why aren't they sharing their cold fusion technology with the world!? Anyway, this stuff pours a clear amber-brass topped by a finger of relatively short-lived off-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit peel, light menthol, light pine sap, and some strong buttery biscuit forming a solid foundation for it all. The taste brightens the grapefruit a notch, softens the biscuit a good deal, and does away with much of the butter. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. Overall, an okay IPA, definitely in favor of balance, but one that lacks much character beyond that.

Can pour at the BevMo Holiday Beerfest held at Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average IPA but it's drinkable for what it is.

Another beer provided by the creator of the can quest, woodychandler. Poured from a 16 oz. can in the shape of a bottle. Has a beige color with a 1 inch head. Smell is very malty(huh), a bit sweet. Taste is also big on malts, some hops are present, as is a bit of caramel, I enjoyed it but your average hop head would be let down. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall, as woody said, more like a pale ale than an IPA.

This was an unusual CAN to further The CANQuest (TM) since it was in the shape of a screw-top bottle, but made of aluminum. Folks, if it ain't glass, it ain't a bottle! Same with non-pressurized mini-kegs: non-pressurized means not on-tap. Please stop taking me to task. I know what I am doing and talking about.

From the CAN: "Brewed with Glacial Mineral Water"; "Dry Hopped, Double Hopped"; "Cold Fusion Filled"; "A copper colored Ameri[CAN] style IPA with full malt flavor, notable bitterness and a satisfying hop presence. This beer teases great flavor from fewer ingredients including Munich and Melanoidin malts paired with the perfect blend of Apollo, Cascades [sic] and Sterling hops. This beer demonstrates the great flavor that [CAN] be achieved by a simplified palette of beer ingredients."

I could have sworn that it also claimed to be resealable, but that does not appear anywhere on the CAN.

No Crack as a result, but the Glug happened really quickly as the direct result of the wide mouth. I ended up with better than two fingers of dense, tawny head with great retention as a result. I was not in complete agreement with their assessment of its color as "copper", thinking that it was more of a deep-amber, but either way with NE-quality clarity. Nose was more malty and grainy than I would prefer in the style, belying their "achieve[ment] by a simplified palette" claim. Simple is as simple does and usually does not elevate anything. Mouthfeel was medium with an odd semi-sweet bitterness on the tongue. It was as if the hops and malts were fighting for supremacy and the malt had gained a slight advantage. Finish was likewise a strange admixture of astringency and biscuit malts. I was not displeased, but I was not wowed by it, either. It really was more like an APA than an AIPA, but for the price, it was not bad. Sheesh! Talk about damning with faint praise ...
