Testing this beer well chilled, poured from a bottle into a tulip glass.

A: A clear and light brown/caramel colored bear. Plenty of foam is created while pouring the beer into the glass, giving the glass twirl creates even more small bubbles underneath the surface.

S: A fresh and well balanced smell, there are both sweet malty tones combined with hoppy ones in here.

T: Not that much flavors as i did expect from the smell, but there are both malty and hoppy tones in here as well. There is though a nice bitterness hanging in there for a while. Just wish there where more some more caramel-malt in here giving you a deeper tasting experience, and maybe some more hops as well.

M: As you could tell from the appearance there's a nice carbonation going on here. This together with the hops gives you a pleasant mouthfeel.

O: A nice and easy-drinking "easter ale" with good appearance, smell and mouthfeel. Just wishing there would have been a little more "oomph" since the smell does promise more than it delivers.

The colour is brown (20 EBC), the liquid is clear. The low head is pale beige; it sinks quite quickly leaving some lacing.

The smell got a fine sweetness, notes of molasses and lots of brown bread. Some dough and flowery hops. Altough the hops are from all over the world, the British flavours dominates: Hay and some apricots. The nose is both strong and smooth.

The taste is very malty with some rye-like bread flavours. Medium sweetness. The dry hay-like smooth hops gives a mild, clean bitterness. Hints of roasted meats and black currents. The aftertaste is dry with British hops, oatmeal porridge and a delicate bitterness. The finish is smooth with a touch of yeast.

The carbonation is strong, but the medium sized bubbles fade quickly. The liquid is semi-smooth.

Tulip glass poured from bottle.
A: Dark amber. Clear. Quickly fading, coarse, off-white foam.
S: Dark bread, raisins
T: Strong, long-lasting bitterness. Light astringency that comes later - pleasant. Wineous notes. A late sour impression.
M: Medium body. Low carbonation.
O: Nice, intense beer. Almost wine-like because of the astringency.

A: Pour is deep amber with a medium large off-white really compact head that slowly dissipates into great lacings.

S: Roasted sweet malt, really bready. Chocolate and ripe red apples. Bitter hops and floral ones.

T: Rich sweet light roasted malt. Molasses and dark bread. Floral hops together with the bitter is great. Chocolate and red apples.

M: Long sweet and bitter aftertaste. Body is medium and carbonation low.

O: This is a great beer. I would buy this any time of the year.
