Hefeweisen from Paulaner Bräuhaus, my first import wheat brew. Poured from the longneck bottle into a pint glass, adhering to the "spin'n'smack" technique to get all of the yeast in with the rest of the contents. Its got very nice lacing lacing, a two finger thick head, and a hazy golden body.

Smells like traditional banana, clove, and bubblegum. Just a little though, you've really got to inhale it to get a full understanding.

Tastes like bubblegum and clove. Just enough to surround your tongue as it goes down. Not a whole lot of banana-like elements in this category. This is a very refreshing brew.

Quite a smooth mouthfeel. Very clean and crisp. Very nice job here!

Overall an outstanding 4 is given to Hefeweisen from Paulaner Bräuhaus. I'm very glad I got to experience a true German summer Hefeweisen. This style is certianly going to resonate with me and I'll miss it dearly during the off-season. So drink up, cheers!!!

Format: a standard 330mL brown bottle with a traditional German macro label.

Appearance: the colour of this beer is a soft straw yellow with constant but fine carbonation. A large white head pops up to three fingers before dropping back to a thick half-finger. Drops away a bit too quickly for my liking.

Aroma: the traditional banana and cloves with some kind of harsh wheat and yeast aromas. Still quite pleasant.

Taste: again the bananas and cloves with the wheats coming through more soft and subtle. Very drinkable.

Aftertaste: the wheat and yeast last the distance and produce a bit of bitterness on the finish.

Mouth feel: medium in body with a moderate carbonation. Decent.

Overall: a nice sessional German wheat beer. Definitely worth it for AU$67 a case of 24. I'll have it again.

this beer was bought 1 1/2 years after best before date otherwise is great with standard American garnish of squeezed lemon. I tried this beer in Germany for the first time and loved it. Then I went back to Colorado springs and continued to enjoy this beer. I haven't tried this beer in a long time and will get a fresher batch next time to make sure I get the desired taste.
