Review from one bottle... received in trade... at Bonnaroo of all places! Wee!
Poured into a tall Hopf Wheat beer glass just cause, hell, I'm not sure it won't crawl out.
Beer is an intense gold, fairly clear since I intercepted the yeast from the bottle. Slow release of carbonation keeps a bare white head floating up and over the beer.
As beer warms up, the aroma becames a warm golden malt mixed with a higher alcohol burn. Something fairly dusty in the beer with a spicy flowery punch in the background.
Flavor is initially sweet with a growing tea like tanninic quality of the hops pulling up to overcome the malt.
Surprising that a beer this crisp still has a bit of sweetness in the close, but overall a very good approach on an imperial pils.
