12 oz bottle. best if bought before may 2013.
A: a slight amount of haze in an otherwise brilliant light copper body. head is bubbly and solid. slightly off-white. retention is good, and there is some spotted lacing.
S: nose has a lot of butterscotch/diacetyl aroma. otherwise there is some earthy/pine hop aroma. meh.
T: a citrus presence is notable in the middle of the drink. a bit oxidized, in addition to diacetyl, makes for an overall slightly moderate/unpleasant flavor. bitterness is there throughout and some hop flavor makes its way towards the finish. lemons and pine trees.
M: moderate carb on a medium body. doesn't drink as big as the abv says.
D: this thing definitely tastes like it has lost some quality due to time. however, I am surprised that this is still well before the best by date. wonder how long ago it was bottled....regardless I feel like I have been happy and sad about this brew quite a few times, that inconsistency alone is enough to pass. get your shit together Heavy Seas.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Two finger head, clear golden color. Nose is citrusy (orange/grapefruit/pineapple) and hoppy - smells incredible.
Taste is similar to the smell, but the hops are more pronounced. Not overly carbonated. For a triple hopped IPA it isn't as aggressive in the hop flavors as it could be - not for drinking quickly, but definitely more drinkable than some similar beers. Could probably appeal to hopheads and those less enthusiastic about aggressive beers.
Overall a very good beer, one I'd like to keep around. Glad I picked it up on my way back from Baltimore.

On tap in a pint glass.
A- Golden-orange color, big off-white head, fluffy. ample amounts of all kinds of lacing. Bubbly.
S- Piney hop aroma, some citrus and malts.
T- It's malty paired with those piney hops and earthy floral flavor.
M- Big body, thick and resinous. Well carbonated. Long hope bite finish.
O- Big hop profile that is not overly bitter. Better tan I expected.
