Formerly Loose Cannon - American Hop3 Ale
Burnished gold with a rich citrus hop aroma, it is wonderfully drinkable with a big hop flavor. We’ve knicknamed it Hop3 (hop cubed) ale to reflect the enormous amount of hops in this beer: over 3 pounds per barrel! It is hopped 3 ways: in the kettle, in the hop back, and dry hopped.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. It had a best by date of Sept 2010 notched into the front label (love the notching). It was a hazy golden color with good carb streams. It had about finger of head that settled into a small foam/film cap. Good slow sliding lace with good amount sticking.
The aroma was excellent. C-hop heavy with grapefruit and other tropicals in there. Floral and some pine as well. Not as strong as some others in the style but still pretty darn good. The taste was also excellent. Nice c-hop flavor with slight bitterness and great balance on the malt. Dangerously drinkable. Again, not as strong as some others in the style in flavor but very good. Mouthfeel was medium but had a slight watery texture that distracted from the feel. Good carb and aftertaste.
Overall, a very good AIPA. It doesn't lead the category for me in aroma alone or flavor alone but as an overall beer it blends very well. If I want strong aroma or flavor, I might grab something else but if I want to drink several this one fits the bill nicely. High recommend. Not available in TX so I shipped back from my Indy trip. Rotation - if avail here, it would make the regular rotation for it's session ability. As is, might have to get some more shipped here. Definitely worth a sixer while staying at folks in Indy. A Maryland go-to malty IPA. It’s a good drinkable choice every time!

A heavy malty (not a New England) IPA.
