Had this one on tap at the Hard Times Cafe in College Park, Maryland.
Unfortunately, I did not get an opportunity to see what its head looks like as my pint was served to me almost completely without one. The few suds I witnessed were white and did not stick to the glass much. The liquid was a bright, very clear coppery orange.
First whiff makes my mouth water... citrus and tropical fruits are very powerful and easy to appreciate.
Tastes very bitter up front. Pine is probably the most dominate hops flavor overall, followed by grapefruit rinds, fresh pear and candied pineapple.
Medium-bodied with tongue-tickling carbonation.
I take it that the "hop cubed" on the label refers to Clipper City's legendary "triple hops" brewing technique. Unlike some other beers, Loose Cannon lives up to that implication. This is an awesome IPA. I'm glad I got to try it in its home state :)
Serving type: on-tap
