Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Sam Adams pint glass. Poured a dark amber, almost brown color with a small white covering on top of the beer.

Aroma mostly gives off sweet malts with some caramel and bready flavors. The taste is malty with caramel and toffee and a little bit of roasted malts being present.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Drinkability is good, it was a decent beer that had a pretty good flavor to it. It was definitely more malt focused then some of the ambers that are big in the hops, but that's not a negative thing if you like malty beers.

The dark almost brown amber color beer pours out into a nonic pint glass with a 1/2" head that soon recedes to a thin cover on the liquid.

The aromas are mostly malts without much in the way of hops showing.

The flavors seem a bit more complex than the aromas would suggest as there's some almost syrupy sweetness from the malt and some very light citrus in the background but without much bitterness to speak of.

The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium bodied and slightly crisp with some moderate carbonation.

Drinkable but nothing outstanding. I could drink another if offered but won't seek it out in the future.

Served in a Devil's Backbone willibecher.

I don't know what compelled me to pick this bottle up, but... Okay, I'm not sure how to finish that sentence. The beer pours a clear garnet brown topped by a finger or so of light ecru foam. The nose comprises light maple syrup, wheat, and dusty citrus fruits. The taste is very similar, resembling sharp citrus notes drizzled with maple syrup, all with a tinge of orange-peel bitterness. The body is a light medium, with a moderate carbonation and a crisp finish. Overall, an average amber at best, something I really have no interest in drinking again.

A - Poured a brown color with a tan head that leaves lacing behind

S - Has an earthy malt nose

T - Follows the nose starts off malty then a touch of bitter hops

M - This beer has a medium body with medium carbonation to it

D - Overall this is a good beer and probably the best organic beer Ive had pretty easy to drink worth trying

Poured into an imperial pint glass. Color was a dark reddish brown. A very thin off white head that left a small ring on top. Aroma was earthy, with some sweet malty and some oatmeal undertones. Taste was sweet at first, with a small amount of bitterness at the end. Some touched of burnt grains also. Felt watery in the mouth, didn't coat well at all. Carbonation was nice however. Easy to drink, but mouthfeel made it more of a sipper than it should have perhaps been. Not very quenching.

Pours a four finger cream head that fades quickly to a ring leaving traces of lace. Clear dark amber/brown color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. No nose. Flavor is a muted sweet malt, no many hops, very un-amber. Boring. Buy by Sep 2008. $2.05 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Picked up a single of this to fill a mixed 6 pack, apparently its some organic section of the Paper City brewery...a brewery I haven't had much luck with in the past. Not much to say about this beer... kind of the run of the mill quaffable amber ale. Pretyt drinkable and some decent caramel flavor to it but very watery and light bodied. As I've said in past reviews I find the whole organic thing a bit of a marketing gimmick but this was a nice drinkable beer.. nothing more than that.

Reddish amber color, brilliant clarity, pours a slightly coarse white head with good retention.

Aroma shows a lot of caramel malt, a bit of copper penny, a bit of chocolate?

Nice malty flavor, some caramel sweetness and almost a hint of roastiness, but perfectly balanced by the hops. Hop flavor is secondary, but evident. Finishes with a subtle bitterness.

MF - Medium body and carbonation, no astringency or warming.

D'ability - Probably the strongest aspect of this beer. Flavorful, but not overpowering. Would be easy to down several of this nicely balanced ale.

Translucent dark red color. Thin white head that instantly vanishes--no lace, no retention, nada. Freshness dated!

Smells like cranberry juice.

Tastes like cranberry juice with horrible seltzer-like carbonation.

I'm pretty sure this is cranberry juice, not beer.

Pours a mellow amber-brown color with minimal carbonation and a thin one-finger head into my pint glass.

Aroma is full of sweet malt with only a bit of hops showing in the nose. Seems a bit weak or perhaps it needs to warm up.

Taste is sweet wtih a dash of hops. Seems middle-of-the-road to me but is inoffensive and a bit dirinkable.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering sweet malt and hops. Not bad.

Easy to drink but otherwise, it's not much else. If you want an easy to drink amber ale, this could be for you. Otherwise, I'd seek out more flavor elsewhere.

Pours a nice brownish golden amber color and the head quickly recedes. Overall the aroma is very pleasant. There is a nice sweet smell with a hint of almost caramel. On the flip side the taste isn't that sweet at all. It is almost more tart with a light hop finish. This is a decent beer overall especially for an organic ale. Nice and refreshing and easy to drink.

I enjoyed this beer from the comfort of my own living room. From the 12oz bottle received from the micro of the month club to a standard pint glass. Bottle recommends a purchase by date of October, 2008.

Appearance: Pours a dark amber color with two-fingers of light tan head that disappears at a decent pace.

Smell: Very sweet malt, with hints of caramel.

Taste: Bready malt and as the smell would suggest pretty sweet.

Mouthfeel: Nice carbonation level, thin-bodied and smooth.

Drinkability: Not a bad tasting brew and would try again if I found one before the "purchase by" date came and went.

This is my first beer review, so as a novice, hopefully I am getting the descriptions correct.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass

Appearnance - Brownish Red, did not seem to have or hold much of a head.

Smell - Nice aroma, - very pleasant

Taste - Flavorful, malty and not over carbonated. It was not bitter at all.

Drinkability - A very drinkable beer, went down easy. I enjoyed the taste and would definitely have one if I saw it out.

Pours a nice looking clear slightly darker brown. Nose is slightly nutty and has an almost acorn aspect. Flavor hits with malts and a consistent nutty tone. Leafy and just barely wood as well. It's like drinking a tree!! Or something. Feel has a bit of a thicker liquid feel. Carbonation is fairly full. Well as an amber this beer sucks. But as a nut brown, I'd say it was pretty good. I'd actually like this one to last a little longer than 12 ounces.

A: Deep amber, solid layer of foam - 4.00, S: From a couple feet away the beer is evident, it has a somewhat sour smell like fermenting berries or apples, hint of caramel malt - 3.25, T: The nose is slightly deceiving as malt plays more of a role on the tongue than the nose, mildly flavored, some sharp hops on the end which are more noticeable as the beer warms - 3.25, M: Smooth and creamy, like heavily creamed coffee - 3.75, D: Overall this is beer is somewhat of a disappointment, mild on many levels - 3.00

Pours to a reddish root beer color, foamy tan head. Head fades slowly. Smells lik e red licorice and molasses. Taste is dryer than expected for an ale of the style.. Carbonation is good but mouthfeel is a little watery and thin. Taste in kind of one dimensional with a more bitter than sweet constant from start to finish. A good brew but I wouldn't seek out.

Served from a brown glass bottle with, not coincidentally, a natural, organic looking label with the picture of a field and some barley. Poured into a pint glass, and....

...Appearance- Eh. delivered a 2 finger head with weak retention. No lacing at all. The beer has a standard amber ale color.

Smell- I'm sorry, but I didn't smell anything really. I can smell a bit of hops, but that's it really. It wasn't a bad smell, but more like...no smell.

Taste- Average amber ale taste.

Mouthfeel- Smooth to drink, and unlike most amber ales, a hoppy taste on the way down.

Drinkability- Average. Easy to drink. Certaintly one of those beers where you can have one after another, but I've got a fridge full of Raison d'etre, so I'm only having this one!
