Nice balance of the raspberry, not too over or underwhelming. Light but flavorful, perfect for spring and summer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Sam Adams pint glass. Poured a clear and fizzy gold amber color. It poured with a two finger white bubbly head

Aroma has a strong wheat and grain smell to it with a hint of raspberry that is more in the background. The taste is stronger with raspberry then the nose suggests. The raspberry is pretty nicely done in that it doesn't taste as fake as some of the fruit beers. It's a nice light refreshing taste.

Mouthfeel is light with high carbonation. The carbonation is a little high for me, and I feel it takes a way from the flavor somewhat unfortunately. Drinkability is decent, it's a pretty good light fruit flavored beer. It could be a good hot day drinking beer or a beer to attract people that don't normally drink beer.

This is a solidly average-to-mediocre fruit wheat beer. It doesn't have any nasty saccharin kind of flavors, like the cheap varieties do. It has no real malt character, and a slightly syrupy aftertaste. Overall, this beer has nothing in particular to recommend it, but is at least average, if not better, for what it is.

From notes 10-26-09

Eye: When first poured this thing gives huge head, I mean the glass fills with foam, annoying, but good in a way I guess...its receeding to a nominal level...Head is soapy in texture..big fluffly and almost rocky, kinda like Duvel in a way, bone white and fluffy/rocky/soapy with some staying power. I'm looking at an interesting landscape formed by the foam, like a mountain in the middle of the glass with a valley on either side. Body is a cloudy golden wheat color. The color of Rumplestiltskin's straw that was being weaved into gold... Cloudy in appearace too, the way a wheat should be. Really there is nothing that I'd say can be improved with this one.

Nose: The name of this says it all, raspberry and wheat. Real strong wheat by the way, and real raspberries, smells like I've got my nose in a bushel of raspberries freshly rinsed. Other than that not much else. I think that this is just what the brewer intended. Aroma is very potent, released each time, filling the room each time I pour more into the glass.

Tongue: Wheat again comes through very strong. Nutty tones as well, kinda reminds me of peanut butter. Raspberry in there too, big and slightly tart. One can tell that this beer uses real fruit and not some silly extract flavoring. On the front of the tongue this beer brings some tartness to the table, raspberry flavor follows mingled with some nutty tones...a nice match alctually..kinda like PB&J. That nuttiness is very prevalent, behind it is some grainy notes that just mix so well with the nuttiness. Some alcohol is evident in the finish. This is one of the better fruit beers of this type that I've had. You can't include Black and Blue, Fort, Kasteel Rouge or any lambics in this category. I'm talking bout beers that are wheat-fruit or just fruit beers like Pete's wicked etc. This one is definitely one of the better ones. Give it a try.

Feel and Drinkability: More of a medium body on this one, maybe going towards light though. Carbonation is high and sparkly, as in a soda or champagne, and is right on for what this beer offers. Can't really say much more about the body, the aftertaste don't linger all that much...This one is easy to drink, but because of the high carbonation I don't know if I'd be able to drink a sixer of this in one sitting. Its good but I'm thinking you gotta be in the mood for it. However, if you are a fan of fruit beers, then don't pass this one up. Hell, if you are a fan of interesting beer than don't pass this one up. This is by far the most interesting beer brewed with fruit I've had...its the nuttiness mixed with the fruit that makes this one interesting. This is one that I'll pick up when I'm in the mood for fruit beer.

Pours a golden amber color with a one finger head. The aroma is of a wheat backbone with a nice real raspberry smell. The raspberry smell is not overpowering but very nice a mellow. The taste is much like the smell wheat backbone with a real raspberry taste, not syrupy and fake like some others of this style. The mouthfeel is moderatley carbonated. Overall it is a very drinkable beer, nice flavor and easy drinking.

I was able to enjoy this beer out of a 12 oz brown bottle purchased from a local six-pack shop in Wexford, PA.

Listed at 4.5% alcohol, Oxford Organic Raspberry Wheat Beer from Clipper City Brewing pours an almost transparent strawberry blonde color with little to no apparent head.

As far as smell, there is a faint smell of raspberries, but not the smell of syrup-like or artificial raspberries, which is a major turnoff of mine for fruit beers.

The taste is of raspberries, but not overpowering or too sweet, which makes it a fairly drinkable and refreshing beer. Additionally, the low ABV makes it a pretty sessionable beer. To be honest, I was expecting a little more raspberry out of the taste and was a little let down.

The bottom line: I would probably try this beer if it were lying around, as I find it hovering on the better side of mediocre, but I wouldn't rush out to buy a six pack of this, not because I didn't enjoy it, but because I am not that partial to fruity beers. However, this is a very drinkable organic beer that is worth trying.

Poured ½ a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pint glass. Formed a small ½ finger white head that dissipated quickly leaving very little lacing. The body is a hazy golden amber with a deep center and lighter edges.

The nose is what you would expect...raspberries dominate with some malty and grainy undertones.

Flavor is right on with the nose. A refreshing burst of raspberries hit the palate first and follows with a malty-wheat finish.

Mouth feel is pretty light with a good amount of carbonation...what I was expecting.

Very drinkable and refreshing...worth a try for fans of fruit beers.

Poured a very clear golden amber color that left a small head that in turn left almost no lacing. All I really get from the smell is raspberry and caramel malt. The taste is mostly raspberry (not too strong) and a small amount of hops and malt, like in most fruit beers. This beer doesnt offer anything special, but it is a solid brew.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a brown color with a small head. Aroma is hardly there, maybe some faint hints of raspberry. Taste is of raspberry, more tart than sweet. Feels light in the mouth. Not a beer I could drink all day. Overall this is an avevage brew.

Appearance: small head, clear, medium carbonation, dark gold

Smell: raspberry and wheat--truth in advertising

Taste: raspberry, honey, and wheat

Mouthfeel: crisp, sweet, and light bodied

Drinkability: I could have several of these, especially as the weather gets warmer. I like fruit beers that do not lose the fruit taste, and this one definately keeps the beer taste. This is highly drinkable and the fact that it is organic is that much better

Pours an amber-blonde color with a thin one-finger head into my pint glass.

Aroma is full of light raspberry followed by a bit of the wheat malt present.

Taste is light with only a bit of raspberry left in the middle. Wheat follows the raspberry but by then, both are hardly there.

Mouthfeel is light and grainy. Not imposing. Beer goes down inoffensively.

It's certainly light and easy to drink for a fruit beer. However, it's only average and isn't bad if you like beer to be as easy to drink as possible without giving up too much (or too little) flavor.

Well, the Oxford line has has an amazing survival rate, dating way, way, very way back to when it was the Oxford Brewing Company run by Craig Stewart Paul. But Hugh Sisson really has a way of pulling things off! Switching the Oxford line (this and the Oxford Class) to organic is really kind of brilliant! I hope it works for him (well, everyone at Clipper City).

As is, it's pretty much the same beer it was, although perhaps a bit more tart. It pours a very hazy/cloudy orange body beneath a foamy head of bright white that holds well and leaves some nice rings of puffy lace about the glass.

The nose is clearly raspberry (seeds and all!), over a decidedly wheat-based malt. It's very bright, fresh, and inviting!

In the mouth it's a touch zesty, but also medium bodied.

The flavor is tart raspberry upfront, followed by more soft fruit as it opens up across the middle, and then some wheat malts as it heads into a lingering, fruit-pulp and wheat finish. The bitterness is kept low with just enough to balance it, and there are only sublime hop notes which appear mainly leafy. It lingers, but not in a bad way, although the combination of fruit-pulp and wheaty malt residue is not as clean and crisp as you might get from a more hoppy ale.

Very nicely done, I far prefer this new version to the old one that had become almost a generic American raspberry ale. It's being organic is just a bonus!
