22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating. Pours very hazy orange copper color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, raisin, pear, brown sugar, herbal, and light earthy hops. Nice malty aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, toffee, raisin, pear, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and light earthy hop spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, toffee, light fruits, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and earthy hop spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance and complexity of malty flavors; with moderate hop flavor balance; and zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice imperial Oktoberfest lager. Very nice balance and complexity of malty flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. I could tell this was an older bottle, and it aged nicely.
