This beer pours just as I expect it should-- a red-black translucent color, although a scant course bubble head and next to no lacing.
The nose is quite small- with tiny hints of hops and a hair of toasted malt.
Flavor-- is OK.. It is robust with the weight of an imperial stout-- but in the end it's just "weight". The mouthfeel has a weighty stance but when I break it down-- take it apart there really isn't much in the way of flavor there-- I taste some ingredients of hops and some toasty malt but the flavor has a one dimensional "toast" malt but not a lot else that strikes my senses.
There's a long finish that's smooth and long-lasting.
The mouthfeel is quite cordial, with a soothing effect on my palate.. there's nothing to the flavor or the character that ruffles my tasting feathers.
The drinkability thanks to the beer's 8% ABV makes it possible to enjoy several pints without regretting it..
As the glass is drained I think this beer is worthy of enjoyment, simply there's nothing in it to make me remember it when I'm looking at other choices...

Smooth character and chocolate taste. Normally I like Guiness but this stout is an outstanding substitute. My first taste was in Williamsburg, VA at the Greenleafe Cafe. Good location with a plethora of beers on tap.
This stout offers a good head, a chocolate bouquet, smooth drink and a mild, sweet finish. Not bitter and definitely drinkable. It would be excellent as a dessert all by itself!!
