22oz. bottle poured into a Dogfish Head snifter...
Pours black, slight reddish/brown on the edges when held up to the light, with a one finger soft tan head that leaves a thin haze on top of the brew, not much lacing...
Smells of bitter dark chocolate and a dark roasted coffee, a tiny bit of sweetness in the background...
Tastes like a sightly watery coffee with a bit of dark chocolate. Roasted grain, overall a pretty smooth combination of those flavors, not harsh and bitter like some...
Thinner than expected, lacking carbonation, almost too slick on the tongue. Honestly felt I was drinking a regular, non-imperial stout...
The mouthfeel really ruined this one for me, way too thin for an imperial stout, average taste on top of that...always love trying a new beer that I cannot get here in Chicago, but this one kinda missed the mark...

Smooth character and chocolate taste. Normally I like Guiness but this stout is an outstanding substitute. My first taste was in Williamsburg, VA at the Greenleafe Cafe. Good location with a plethora of beers on tap.
This stout offers a good head, a chocolate bouquet, smooth drink and a mild, sweet finish. Not bitter and definitely drinkable. It would be excellent as a dessert all by itself!!
