22oz. bottle poured into a Dogfish Head snifter...
Pours black, slight reddish/brown on the edges when held up to the light, with a one finger soft tan head that leaves a thin haze on top of the brew, not much lacing...
Smells of bitter dark chocolate and a dark roasted coffee, a tiny bit of sweetness in the background...
Tastes like a sightly watery coffee with a bit of dark chocolate. Roasted grain, overall a pretty smooth combination of those flavors, not harsh and bitter like some...
Thinner than expected, lacking carbonation, almost too slick on the tongue. Honestly felt I was drinking a regular, non-imperial stout...
The mouthfeel really ruined this one for me, way too thin for an imperial stout, average taste on top of that...always love trying a new beer that I cannot get here in Chicago, but this one kinda missed the mark...

A: Dark. Black. Beautiful mocha head.
S: Two smells: chocolate and bourbon.
T: A lot of chocolate up front that lingers for quite a bit. You have to really search for the vanilla and bourbon, but it's there.
M: Oily and thick just how it should be.
O: Pleasantly surprised by this. Not something I'd go out and search for, but it was tasty. I'm glad I picked this up.

On tap in a snifter at Track 84, Warwick RI
A: dark as expected; light lacing
S: Sweet, almost to the point of having me not drink it (not a sweet beer fan)
T: Glad I ignored the nose. Sweet chocolate at first, and Heavy Seas' oak came through, but all subtler than the smell indicated. Slight bitter after taste, but only slight.
M: good carbonation, hit some unexpected parts of the tongue
O: Very drinkable stout. ABV creeps up. Wish it was available more than just on a seasonal basis.,
