Pours a very dark brown with a half finger of tan head that goes away quickly. Smell is slightly sweet with a hint of chocolate. The taste is smooth enough with lots of roast backed up by a sweetness. Mild bourbon note. The finish is roasty but the sweetness goes away.

Smooth character and chocolate taste. Normally I like Guiness but this stout is an outstanding substitute. My first taste was in Williamsburg, VA at the Greenleafe Cafe. Good location with a plethora of beers on tap.
This stout offers a good head, a chocolate bouquet, smooth drink and a mild, sweet finish. Not bitter and definitely drinkable. It would be excellent as a dessert all by itself!!
