pale yellow/gold color. a thin white head. clear, but not crystal clear.
low corn aroma. low malt aroma. low spicy hop aroma.
crisp dry flavor. low malty flavor and sweetness. low, but distinct hop flavor and bitterness. flavor is pretty even, but i suppose it leans most towards the flavor of adjuncts.
very soft mouthfeel. medium bodied. very carbonated, but not highly so, and the bite in the finish is softer usual.
overall this lager has a lot of flavor for a american pale lager. it still retains that refreshing characteristic, but its also quite tasty.

This beer is very simple compared to many of its neighbors on the craft beer shelves. It is not super-hopped or extreme in its ABV. It is just a well made beer where the 6th one is as pleasurable to drink as the 1st.
It has a very small head and very little lacing. The taste is balanced and rich like you would expect from a lager. The mouthfeel is clean with just a little stick.
If you're in or around the Baltimore-DC area, this is one of the best session beers you'll find.

Bin Drink'n dis beer for awyle dare Hon! This beer is crisp and refreshing without being boring. A good session beer but also a fine accompaniment to food grilled over charcoal. I have had this beer with grilled chicken, hamburgers and shrimp with Old Bay! I have noticed that seafood cooked with Old Bay enhances the taste of the beer. The beer pours a clear straw golden color and has a decent aroma and a decent head if 'as the brewer recommends' is poured aggressively. As a lifelong Marylander and one familiar with the 'land of pleasant living' dis here beer is what Natty Boh wishes it could be. Just imagine... sitting on a deck overlooking South River with a couple dozen steamed crabs, the Sun going down... and pouring a Classic Lager pulled from an ice bucket... It don't get much better 'n dis Hon!

A - golden maybe a bit of orange tint. about a finger of light head which dissolves quickly. can see a bit of the carbonation. no lacing.
S - the nose mostly consists of grain. there is a presence of some of the malts and hops too, but the grain comes through the strongest. also there's a faint citrus note.
T/M - nice balance of malted barley and hops. I do find the faint citrus note from the nose, but it takes some searching. finishes smooth. crisp and refreshing. mild carbonation. slight grainy aftertaste.
D - a good session lager. very drinkable. I look forward to trying more of what Clipper City has to offer.

Nice new offering from Clipper City. Always excited to see a new craft lager. Purchased at The Brewer's Kettle in High Point. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Pours a translucent darker gold with the thinnest of white sheets on top. Dissipates quickly. Not even a ring around the edge. No lace. Scents of grass, flowers, veggies, and grains. The mouth is crisp and refreshing. Good carbonation level. Not too spritzy. The flavor is sharp and refreshing as well. A mild hop kick at the onset, creamy buttery middle, and finishes tangy and semi-sweet. Good lager here. Drinkable as anything I've had before. This is far better than any macro lager out there. Perfect beer for the summer, and perfect beer to introduce others to the wonderful world of craft beer. Will be getting this again and again.

Freshness marker is not readable, no notches...oh well. About a one finger head that lasted about half a minute. Color is a hazy 5 on the SRM beer color chart. Smell of malt. Taste is barley with a little hops. Sort of creamy in my mouth, a little dry as it goes down. Good solid taste and body, another please.

A: A medium shade of amber, with a very thin white head. I'd like to see more head on a beer like this. Pretty good clarity, only slightly hazy. Even still, it isn't what I'd consider average.
S: Not too much lager scent, very clean on the nose. I get only the slightest malt profile.
T: It has a very nice flavor to it. I get a light grainy taste, like eating crackers or a bread roll. It is a very light flavor.
M: Good mouthfeel. Very clean, although it seems to be lacking crisp carbonation.
O: I think lighter beer drinkers or those who appreciate simple lagers, but want more flavor, will appreciate this. My only real complaints are that it looks and feels under-carbonated.

A: Bright clear golden color with a slight white head.
S: Crisp malty aroma with a hint of hops. Very clear scent.
T: Very bright clean lager flavor. Malt with a kiss of hops at the end. Not too overpowering. Very refreshing flavor with a hint of oats.
M/O: Very bubbly and lively out of the bottle. It is what its name is..a classic lager.

Beer poured from bottle into Pilsener glass
A - Beer poured with golden clear body; one finger white foam which dissipate very quickly; plenty of carbonation; not much lacing formed on the side of the glass
S - For a lager, this has a nice scent; deep and aromatic grain smells; malt notes and the noble hops they used in this beer comes up immediately; hints of flowery notes as well from noble hops
T - Beer has a smooth and rich malt lager flavor and finishes off with a nice slight hop dry aftertaste; kind of dry and not bad for a beer; Clipper brewers made a good beer with the right blend of malt and hops; very well balanced; not much bitterness from the German noble hops
M - Light creamy feel; some bubbly feeling over the tongue; overall very smooth and no tart or sour tongue feel;
D - Nice blend of malts and hops to give it a good lager taste; they really did a good job with this one; smooth and refreshing beer; I could have plenty of these over and over again

Poured from a 12 fl oz bottle into a pint glass. For Brewery-Fresh Taste, Purchase Before Nov 11.
Appearance: Pours a standard thin golden pale lager color. Active carbonation and decent white head. A good representation of a classic lager.
Smell: A decent metallic hoppy aroma. Straightforward.
Taste: Flavorful, but a little grainy. Not too hoppy nor malty, but still pleasant.
Mouthfeel: Appropriate for a classic lager. A little thinner than most craft beers, but definitely a craft take on a standard American lager.
Overall: The name says it all. This truly is a Classic Lager, no frills, but good. Definitely a sessionable beer for a hot summer day - crabs anyone?
