Bottle marked best before Jan 09.
Beer is a luminous crystal clear gold with a thin white film of a head. No lace observed.
Scent is primarily buttery with a hint of toastiness.
Sweet toasty malt flavors. Bready and slightly chewy. Fresh doughy bread notes.
Mouth is coating and creamy; lightly carbonated.
Drinkability is good.
Not my favorite Marzen (see Thomas Hooker or Berkshire Oktoberfest) but a good solid offering and one I'd be happy to drink again.
