12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
A: Light brown, clear, 1-fingered head.
S: Mostly caramel and yeast, with a hint of citrus.
T: Just like it smells. Light but bold and very pleasant.
M: Silky sooth. Very well balanced.
O: Usually I like to sit and analyze my beers a bit, but this tasted so good I was surprised how quickly it disappeared from my glass. Nothing too complex, just well made and one of the best mouthfeels in recent memory.

I'm a new BA member and this is my first review. So, being Baltimore-born and raised I think I'll pop my cherry with a Baltimore brew!

I drink as much Heavy Seas on my weekends as I can muster. My buddy Fassio left me a Gold Ale in exchange for one of my Guinness Black Lagers and I have to say, I really enjoy this brew. It looks great in a glass and has a nice mouth feel. Excellent drinkability but a little heavy on the corn after-taste. Overall a solid and refreshing drink.

Got this in a heavy seas variety pack

A: Clear gold with white head

S: Caramel malts and light citrus hops, balanced smell

T/M: Nice light bodied, floral and citrus hop, finished clean but a little plain, seemed almost like a pilsner

Overall is a a good blonde summer beer, easy to drink while at a BBQ or watching a game

A- Pours a beautiful gold with a 1/2 inch head that simply does not go away. Drank the entire glass without the head dissipating. Leaves little bubbles but not true lacing. Amazingly clear with tons of bubbles rising throughout.

S- Light earthy and grassy hops and lightly sweet malts.

T- Just like the smell with the hops coming through enough to make this a very enjoyable, if not robust, beer and the caramel sweetness tasting just right. Theres also a light fruitiness here that plays really well with the soft grassy hops and sweet malts, yum.

M- Awesome, lots of carbonation and light body make it extremely drinkable.

D- Tastes good, not too strong and I could have a bunch more but there isn't too much excitement. Easily a sessionable beer if not bold enough to be an every day one.

Super fresh sampler pack these babies are best by 3/2012...this one pours a brilliant bright clear golden hue with a full thicket of egg shell white head. Frothing head dwindles down leaving layers of intricate lacing. Layers of cereal grains, light fruit notes, and floral hops come across my nares a very pleasant herbal grassiness as well. A perfect clean drinking gold ale really, nothing else to add other than damn it's refreshing and it's good cold and doesn't hurt to let it warm up. This is like the most solid homebrew gone pro brewer beer ever, simple flavorful and nails the style guidelines. A true session ale at 4.5% abv packs a nice amount of flavor into a poundable format, I've never seen this stuff outside of the sampler packs. Lighter bodied ale with ample sturdy carbonation really packs in the flavor and definitely pulls off an enjoyable beer in a style that most beer geeks don't give much attention to.

Served in a pint glass from the bottle. Bottle Caption "American Gold Ale with Floral Hop Aroma well rounded, fruity, and complex."

Appearance - Slightly darker golden amber with a decent head and good lacing.

Smell - I seem to catch more of a malty/earthy aroma with the beer rather than the Floral Hop aromas that the label implies.

Taste - Balanced. At first the malt comes through fairly strongly, maybe very slightly watery. Very light on the aftertaste, but as expected as the majority of the hops were intended for aroma.

Mouthfeel - A very drinkable beer, not heavy but also not extremely light. Finishes clean.

Overall - 3.5. A good average beer but with no qualities that really stand out. I am a very big fan of all of Heavy Seas brews that I have had, so this was actually somewhat of a disappointment of their line to me.

A wispy but fairly tall white head rises, though it falls only a little less quickly. Still, a pretty strong bubbly foam sticks it through and deposits some bubbles and spotting to the walls of the glass pretty well down.
Malts and hops are nicely balanced while this brew remains light in character. That doesn't mean weak, short on aromatics or flavorless, though. Some floral, grassy and leafy hops bitterness sit well against the sweetness of pale fruits, mostly pear and apple but with a little citrus coming in too. It adds a little zest as well as going pithy on the tongue. Some caramel adds a bit more sweetness on the tongue, but some dryness in the malts keeps it from being overdone and serves to add further balance.
This beer is crisp and light-bodied, refreshing with a bit of bite but still a good smoothness coming through on the tongue. It's semi-sweet, overall, with a sweetness lingering in the finish that's clean nonetheless.

A - bright gold with a soft, white head

S - faint grass, citrusy

T - faint malt, faint grapefruit

M - light bodied, very crisp

This beer doesn't necessarily have the best flavor nor does it have depth but it is light and sessionable. There's nothing bad about this beer, but there isn't anything that stands out either. I won't buy it again, but I wouldn't turn it down if it was offered to me.
