Best by Aug 2011 notched in bottle. Poured from 12 oz bottle into a nonic.

A - Nice golden hue with a minimal white head which leaves moderate lacing. Nice effervescence.

S - Mainly a wheat and malt smell with a tinge of metal.

T - Same as the aroma. Wheat and malt taste with an odd metal aftertaste. No real bitterness.

M - Medium bodies with a moderate carbonation.

Not my favorite style, but not a bad beer. Average for the style. Could be I drank this one too late.

golden in color. slight haze. thin white head

low malt aroma, low spicy hop aroma. not a lot of bouquet from this beer.

low malty sweetness perhaps a hint of corn. flavor of spicy hops. no additional malt flavor. balance is pretty well in the middle, but perhaps leans to the hop bitterness. finish is crisp.

medium light body. medium high carbonation. soft.

easy drinking: yes; malt oriented: ...i dont think so.

Well, this certainly is a pleasant, but simple drink. Before I knew it, I had this sucked down. Like most beers of this style, it is very refreshing, but unlike most, it has almostno distinguishing characteristics - some are flavored.

But the extremely high quality crafting tha twent into making this is worth something. This is a high quality beer.

A-Pours a pale golden with extremely low carbonation. A ring of white head around the edge and no lacing.

S-Yeah, not much going on here. Some pale maltiness with no discernible hops.

T-Slightly bitter with some nice biscuit malt. Better than the nose, still not terribly memorable.

M-Light bodied, the low carbonation is a detriment here.

O-Not bad but not particularly good. One is plenty.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
A: Light brown, clear, 1-fingered head.
S: Mostly caramel and yeast, with a hint of citrus.
T: Just like it smells. Light but bold and very pleasant.
M: Silky sooth. Very well balanced.
O: Usually I like to sit and analyze my beers a bit, but this tasted so good I was surprised how quickly it disappeared from my glass. Nothing too complex, just well made and one of the best mouthfeels in recent memory.

A: Pours a pale yellowish golden color with a small white foam head that dissipates quickly. No real lacing.

S: Very faint scents of some earthy hops with an underlying scent of caramel, bready and biscuit.

T: Much better then the smell. Starts off with a nice bitter taste, mostly some earthy hops. In the middle there is nice balance with some biscuit and bready malts. On the back end there is a good amount of grassy hops to go with the caramel and biscuit.

M: A light body that leaves a slightly bitter taste on the palate. A little thin though.

O: A nice easy to drink blonde ale. Not complex but a nice treat for a hot sunny day.

12oz bottle into my Three Floyd's glass. It poured a deep golden color with a modest, creamy white head to it. Decent head retention with a bit of lacing as I drank it.

The aroma comprises mostly of pale, grainy malts. I get a little citrus zest to it as well. The taste also shows a good amount of sweet, pale, grainy malts throughout the flavor, with just a touch of caramel. Just a hint of citrus on the finish. Pretty clean and crisp though for an ale.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with carbonation being moderate. Overall it was a decent beer, but nothing special. It was clean and crisp and showed a lot of pale, grainy malts to it. Easy drinking and moderately flavorful. Not a bad beer for the style, but not an outstanding beer overall either.

Pours with a minimum head. Settles to a rim of bubbles. Leaves some spots of lace. Nearly clear; gold colored.

Fresh, spent-grain aroma. Attractive with a mild hop background.

More bitter than the smell might indicate. Not as delicate as some Blondes--there's a definite black pepper aspect to the swallow. The grain kinda gets lost in this one, even on the initial sip. I like the body--it's more full than most from this style. High carbonation as well.

pours you guessed it gold - 1 finger head - no lacing

smells of light fruity hops and cereal grains

taste - like the nose but with a watered down flavor - nothing pops not the fruity hops hell its hard to call them fruity and the grains are muted

mouthfeel - very light thin watery with low carbonation

overall a very weak offering from a pretty good brewery - glad i only bought a single

A- Hazy pale gold body with a creamy white cap, about one finger in size. Retention is decent. A few spots of lace here and there.

S- A pretty nice mix of pale caramel malt, light fruit and a bit of earthy/grassy noble/Euro hop character. Some bread and yeast hints.

T- Flavors I get up front are a nice light fruit (apple, white grape), light caramel malt and some yeast bread hints. Definitely a light hopping of noble or European hops, grassy and earthy, slightly floral. Just a bit of spice/raisin in the mix.

MF- Light body with high carbonation. A somewhat creamy feel with a very slight bitterness.

Not the beer of the year but still a pretty nice example of what the style is like. Drinks easily and refreshes on a pretty hot day.

Heavy Seas Gold Ale is a weakly flavoured ale. This is a session beer rather than a sipping beer. It may be a little bit on the flavourless side.

A: Orange-yellow colur and a 5 mm head that fades to reasonable lacing. 4

S: Smells of grains and weakly of floral hops. 4

T: Very mildly flavoured. Some notes of hops and grain... but only weak. 3

M: Quite foamy.

O: A mild and drinkable session ale. 4

Appearance - Golden similar to an IPA with 1 finger head and soda-like carbonation. Minimal head.

Smell - some floral hints and slight hop note but has a sort of adjunct smell to it.

Taste - Taste like a mildly hopped pilsner to me. Some graininess and a dry finish.

Mouthfeel - fine

Overall - A light flavored easy drinker with crisp finish. Nothing spectacular but a well made local beer that is easy to drink and I would definitely try again anytime.

12 oz bottle. Purchase-before month clearly notched on bottom of front label.

Pours a nice gold color. A white ring washes around the glass. Smell is tight and potpourri-like. Fresh grass and orange. Taste starts off juicy and slightly hoppy. Overall, a tart, roasty/citrusy combo that I'm not entirely wary of. Finishes a bit sour, and a little sweet. These blonde ales are odd to my palette, but that's alright.

From 04/12/11 notes.

a - Pours a bright golden color with one inch of white head and light carbonation evident.

s - Smells of light citrus hops, bready malts, and grain.

t - Tastes of light citrus, bready malts, grain, and sweet fruit. A slight step up from the nose.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation, pretty crisp.

o - Overall a pretty average blonde ale. Some nice citrus and fruit in the taste, very easy to drink. Wouldn't seek it out again but worth trying once.

A: pours a light gold in my Heavy Seas Brewery Tour american shaker with a finger and a half of white head that sinks rather quickly into a thin skim of bubbles and leaves no lacing.

S: pretty standard light but crisp malt and citrusy.

T: bread like malt segways into a nice mild orange peel and the overall profile is like an orange marmalade (the kind with the orange peel in it) spread thinly on wonder bread.

MF: well balanced and smooth with good carbonation.

O: solid beer, affordable and local.

Pours a clear gold with slight orange tint, two finger white head that dissipated slowly into a thin collar, little lacing.

Aroma of citrus, floral hops and bready malt.

Taste followed the nose with citrus and malt with a slight hint of caramel.

Mouthfeel was light body with moderate carbonation.

Overall it is a very light crisp beer, more or less what you would expect for a golden ale.

A- Pours a beautiful gold with a 1/2 inch head that simply does not go away. Drank the entire glass without the head dissipating. Leaves little bubbles but not true lacing. Amazingly clear with tons of bubbles rising throughout.

S- Light earthy and grassy hops and lightly sweet malts.

T- Just like the smell with the hops coming through enough to make this a very enjoyable, if not robust, beer and the caramel sweetness tasting just right. Theres also a light fruitiness here that plays really well with the soft grassy hops and sweet malts, yum.

M- Awesome, lots of carbonation and light body make it extremely drinkable.

D- Tastes good, not too strong and I could have a bunch more but there isn't too much excitement. Easily a sessionable beer if not bold enough to be an every day one.

A- It is called gold ale for a reason...It pours a nice golden color..Little white head about a fingers width which dissapears rather quickly.

S-Faint cereal with only the slightest of piney hop presence, another smell slightly reminiscent of white grape juice.

T-Graininess with a slight floral hop kick but when i say slight i mean it..

M-thin and somewhat off putting it leaves a slight stickiness that leaves me wishing i had paired this with a glass of water to rinse with.

D-this is just an average beer..nothing exciting and not at all a "go to" session beer..glad i got it in a sampler instead of a full 6-12pack.

Prost!!!

Formely known as Clipper City Golden Ale which I love drinking at the Orioles games (Camden Yards in Baltimore). Pours a nice golden ale mostly clear, shiny topaz with a lasting small ring of cream and drippy lace. Nose is spicy grass and light fruit. Flavor is spiced, slightly tart fresh apple, a hint of toast, and dry grass. Near-medium body is well-balanced, mildly tingly with carbonation. Later on the finish shows some resiny wood and light citrus. Fine example of the style.

Less than a finger head atop a slightly hazy beer which color matches a 6 on the SRM beer color chart. Blotchy lace with little cling. Smell is slightly citrus, with malt, and wheat. Taste is crisp grain, citrus, and malt, simple but well balanced. Good body in my mouth, lots of cream feel. Good beer to have with fish, and chips. A good game beer. I have another, and I will not give it away.
