A clear brandy copper color with a modest white ring of head and weak lacing. The aroma offers brandy as well. Vanilla oak and sweet marshmallow cherry. The flavor brings an instant idea of pumpkin brandy with some low lying malt and more cherry sweetness and vanilla oak. Very tasty in a medium bodied beer with reserved carbonation and a slick feel. Very solid and a bit different for a sweet seasonal with high octane. The booze is a bit high but it's worth it.

Pours a golden amber color with some orange hues. The white head is small and wispy, settles into a very light ring.

The aroma is of light pumpkin spice; cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Some pumpkin vegetal notes. These aromas are contrasted by a sweet bourbon scent that brings vanilla and oak. Quite surprised by the subtle nature, especially for a big beer.

The taste is quite bourbon-y to start. Vanilla and oak flavors are present as well as a slight fusel alcohol. Perhaps a touch of caramel. The pumpkin spices are muted but seem to play well with the bourbon flavors. Some cinnamon and nutmeg, perhaps some ginger. The malt is slightly bready and doesn't play too much in the flavor profile.

The feel is quite light, almost watery. Its sweet on the palate; the spice and ABV burn seem to help keep the sweetness in check. A bit dry in the finish.

Not really what I expected. I expected a thicked bodied, heavily spiced pumpkin ale that had some bourbon notes. This is almost the opposite. Its light, the main flavor is the bourbon and the pumpkin profile is subtle. It is a nice blend though; the spice works quite well with the bourbon.

750ml poured into tulip glass. Amber color with a one finger head. Nose is malt and spice. Taste starts with malts and spices, mixes with oak and finishes with pumpkin and bourbon. Medium body lingers nicely, with a slight alcohol burn on the back end. Very enjoyable entry into the pumpkin beer world. Would definitely buy again.

On draft at The Tap Room, Patchogue, NY.

Pouted a murky amber hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured hot alcohol and a touch of pumpkin spice.

The taste consisted of a rindy pumpkin, booze and spice.

The mouthfeel was toward the heavier side of the style.

Overall a boozy malty experience. Not what I am looking for in a pumpkin.

A-a clear amber with a thin layer of white head that quickly disappears and leaves a little lace around the top

S-the smell is very nice with earthy pumpkin backbone with cinnamon, vanilla, and bourbon

T-taste is similar to the smell; pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, and bourbon

M-medium body, good carbonation, slightly hot finish

Overall I found that the beer became markedly better once it had warmed up. Nice vanilla and bourbon flavors and a good amount of pumpkin spices

Pours dark orange with a single finger off white head. Smell is full of pumpkin, cinnamon, oaky bourbon. Taste starts with lots of pumpkin, cinnamon again, sweet potato, some marshmallow, sweet, finishes with an oaky bourbon, not too hot, plenty of malt, slight hop presence. This is well balanced but neither of the flavors are intense enough IMO. I did really enjoy it though.

Bottle... is... awesome...
Edit note: we reviewed the 2013 beer. Bottle looks different and has a higher ABV than this site lists.

A - It has a nice orangey amber color. Small head, about one finger, last about a minute.

S - That smells fantastic, but we love the smell of pumpkin. Had a nice little nutmeg scent to it as well. There is a third smell, maybe banana? The nutmeg was very overpowering --- which is great.

T - First off, the aftertaste is just fantastic. Can definitely taste the bourbon in it. Has a sweetness, but it is very light on the pumpkin taste. So, while a great beer, not something people looking for straight pumpkin should drink. However, we rated it on pure deliciousness and not on pumpkin-ness.

M - This is our hardest category as noob reviewers. It's kind of heavy, but not overpowering. It has a slight tingly feel if you let it sit in your mouth.

O - Overall, we say it's an outstanding beer. The smell definitely brings out the pumpkin, but the taste doesn't continue that. Probably not a beer you could drink a lot of, and not just for the ABV (10%). But, definitely good for us to split another bottle at some point.
