Unfortunately no decent glassware for this style so poured into a standard pint glass. Poured with less then a finger of head, no lacing to speak of for me. Its appearance is not what I expect of for this style, maybe I'm a novice on it, but from what I know of this style it is much lighter, this is a deep amber color, not the color I would associate with an IPA, Belgian or not.
While I taste some hops, there is no smell of them to speak of. Smells of malt and sugar.
Taste, now this is where it shines for me personally. Taste the Belgian for sure, but I must admit, not so much IPA. Maybe it's my love for Belgians here, but I like it. So I've rated it high, perhaps a little higher then deserving for it compared to others of the style, but damnit, I like the taste of this beer! A little to highly spiced for the style, but I like it. Yeast, dark fruits, banana, maybe a touch of bubblegum. A light touch of citrus from the hops, but in reality not much hops here for me, which is why I don't rate it a IPA much, if at all.
Medium body, almost no carbonation to speak of. A touch syrupy, but nothing much to it.
Overall I like this beer. I tried to rate it as accurate as possible to the style seeing that I like the beer myself. Again as I said, probably just my love of Beligans. Can't say it matches up well to the promised similarity of Loose Cannon, but hey, it is what it is. I like it!

Beautiful clear tarnished copper colour with a slight white lacy head. Fruity, lemon, honey and a slight yeasty aroma. Carmel, orange rind with a strong orange finish. Dry finish with a tip of the tongue finish. First time trying a beer from this brewery. Not my last!
