Poured into a glass mug.

A: Clear copper with two-finger, white, frothy head that lasted more than a few minutes. Pretty good lacing.

S: Caramel malt and light citrus aromas.

T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. More sweet and less hoppy than I was expecting.

M: Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

O: Interesting. This is the first Belgian IPA I've had. Not awesome, but I'll definitely try another.

A: The beer is rather hazy dark amber in color and has a light amount of carbonation along with many particles visible floating in suspension. It poured with a thin beige head that has excellent retention properties and hardly died down and also left some lacing on the surface.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of tangerines and grapefruit in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has interesting aromas of citrusy hops along with notes of Belgian yeast and caramel malts. A light to moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied, tangy and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this to be an interesting IPA because the tangerine aromas and flavors make it unique among other types of citrusy hops.

12 oz beer was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that has reduced to a thin layer. It is a copper color with great clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Tangerine and other citrus aromas, and a little bit of caramel and bready malts.

Taste: Major citrus bomb. Tangerine, mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. Some caramel and bready sweetness with a little bit of subtle bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium carbonation, medium bodied, nice tingling bitterness, and easy to drink.

Overall: A very enjoyable BIPA and finding a love more and more every week for this style. I enjoyed every bit of this and would revisit this beer again.

Appearance - a beautiful orange hazy liquid with a nice one and a half finger off-white head that lasts for quite awhile, and I assume will provide some fantastic lacing.

Smell - flowers, citrus, HOPS! Smells refreshing and delicious.

Taste - not as hoppy as I was expecting. A very nice blend of bitter, and almost a hint of floral sweetness aftertaste. I very much enjoy the flavor of this brew.

Mouthfeel - just right. Again refreshing.

Overall - great beer. Would recommend it to friends!

Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip. Best by October 2012, so I'm in just under the wire!

Appearance: dark, muddy orange hue with tons of haze and a thick cap of frothy tan foam. Not bad, but bit on the dark and murky side for the style.

Smell: there's not a lot going on here except a moderate phenolic aroma and a hint of toasty malts. It's not a bad aroma, but I feel like the phenolic character would have played great against something hoppy, something sweet, something fruity ... just *something* else in addition.

Taste: rich malty flavor with a fair bit of that phenolic character, but some actual light hoppiness and a light but tasty bitterness at the end. It's not like any other Belgian IPA I've ever had, but I can't say I don't like it. There are more flavors playing off each other here than in the aroma, which I appreciate.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of well-integrated carbonation and concomitant creaminess. I like it.

Overall: a pretty tasty and unusual beer, I would have this again if I were to come across it.

12 ounce bottle, has freshness info, but its with a twist..."Purchase before" info notched onto the label.

Pours darker almond amber, slightly hazed. Medium tan head, slowly fades to a thicker film, collar and leaves moderate spotty lacing.

I get mostly cloves, some yeast and malts in the nose.

This is called a "Belgian style IPA" on the label and here on BA, but I'm not convinced. Really seems more like a hoppy dubbel or another sort of mixed up hybrid.

More cloves, ripe fruit, bready sweet malts...more and more I'm getting a dubbel feel rather than an IPA....anyway, this one just seems to be sort of a question mark to me. Has a warming quality, that makes me think of this as a decent beer to go along with a winter meal, like thanksgiving dinner perhaps
