I have not seen, smelled and tasted many beers like this. This Ale has it all. When poured in a glass, you truely see why it is called a gold ale. It shimmers. The bouque is remarkable too, and it tastes as remarkable as it smells. When you tilt back your glass and smell the beer, that very same sensation transfers over to taste upon hitting your mouth.
I am not a professional reviewer, so I am not sure I can do it justice. But I have lived in and visted many areas of the country, tried many different beers, and couldn't be happier to have moved to Baltimore and found this Ale. If you have the opportunity to try this Ale, don't pass it up. Example: I had a friend from England visit me in Baltimore, and he could not believe how great this Ale is. He comes from the land of Ales!! He loved it. I sent him a six pack for Christmas, and he said it was the best gift he ever recieved.

Why did this beer ever retire!? Usually poured from tap into plastic cup at Camden Yards during an Orioles baseball game. The beer is clear, light gold in color with a small white head, and has a fresh, mild hop aroma. There's low carbonation here and the body is light, but not watery. Definitely the type of beer you could have a few of without feeling gross. Flavor was a bit fruity - apples and apricots perhaps. The hops gave the ale a little kick, but were by no means a dominating characteristic. The finale had a pleasant lingering bitterness. Great summer beer with some personality. Updated: Changed name to Heavy Seas Gold Ale. We are back in business!

Reviewed from notes.
Pours a very slightly clouded lift golden color with a white head. The nose is some very mild hops along with some light grainy bread. Mild fruit in the taste with the malt. Thin body win good carbonation. Drinks fairly well and is a nice lawnmower beer.

Worst looking thing I've ever seen...ginger ale with no head in the glass.
Almost no smell, if you really try, you can pick up a hint of floral notes.
Not a bad taste, mostly hops.
A clean, crisp refreshing taste. Not too bitter, just enough to let you know it's a beer.
Looks and smells like nothing, but has a decent taste with a refreshing feel to it. A good warm weather beer.
