12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a clear deep copper with just the slightest semblance of a head. Absolutely no head retention and no lacing whatsoever. Pretty disappointing.

Aroma is on the sweet side with caramel and toffee with just a slight hint of grass. A bit weak but true to style.

The flavor strikes me as surprisingly sweet with a touch of fruitiness quickly followed by toffee and some toasted caramel. Light bitterness from some grassy hops leading to a sweetish finish. Watery mouthfeel overall.

This beer disappointed me somewhat. Too much yeast here and it is a little dirty and unrefined. It is on the cusp of being pretty good but just doesn't get there. (679 characters)

Purchased: 6-pack from Craft Brewed

Pours a clear and bright copper color, with an attractive white head that features very good retention and a good lace on the glass.

Smell is rich and malty with aromas of bread and also caramel. Slightly sweet in the nose.

Bready taste, with a nice sweetness and just a hint of earthy hops.

Body is medium with an average carbonation. The finish is crisp and clean with malty sweet aftertastes.

Yazoo hasn't really delved much into the lager space historically, but this is a beer on par with a fine German effort. An excellent beer to welcome spring! (712 characters)
