The tan lace clings to the glass as you raise the pint to your lips. Close your eyes and smile as the rich espresso notes fade to a dry, roasted finish. Exceptionally smooth and satisfying. Made with English Pale malt, roasted barley, black patent malt, and flaked barley. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Target hops, and fermented with our English ale yeast.

Had this a couple of times at the brewery and never reviewed the pre-nitro tap version, but I thought I should at least review the nitro-tap.
A- Very dark brown with the sinking nitro-bubbles creating a mild creamy head.
S- Chocolate and expresso type maltyness. Faint.
T- Initially chocolate and expresso malts followed by soft bitterness.
M- medium bodied, somewhat creamy. Lighter than anticipated.
D- Pretty good. It has a pretty smooth taste. Flavorful with a clean finish. Could have a few of these. I would personally like to see Yazoo do an oatmeal stout rather than the Irish stout, but it certainly is good.

Looks nice and dark, from the tap at Clancy's, Knoxville, TN
And, served with a thin head.
Didn't sit there and smell my beer in public... but a quick whiff was enough to make me want it!
Crisp, rich and roast, malty enough and yet
Still light enough to enjoy several, easily,
Overall, it's good enough that I will look for it, and hope to have it again.

Overall, not bad. Smooth, but could be more smooth. I think Sue is of course the best dark beer these guys are making, but really enjoy the stout for what it is.
