A - Poured with finger of head. Seemed to be little carbonation therefore not a lot of lacing down the glass. Pours a dark brown/ruby color. Nice color.
S - Malts dominate the smell. Chocolate, roasted malts, little nutty dominate with hops in the background but stuggling to distinguish themselves. The style lends itself to a malty aroma, but I would prefer a little more hop aroma.
T - Not a bad beer, but similar to the smell...I wish it were a bit more balanced. The burnt/roasted malt flavors come across a little harsh without enough hop flavor to balance. Style lends itself to a malt heavy flavor, but due to the imbalance of the roasted/dark malts it isn't a very smooth beer. There is a touch of fruity ester flavor towards the end.
M - Not bad. The darker malts and residual sweetness give it a nice mouthfeel. I would assume this is very nice from a tap.
D - Not a bad beer but just not my favorite. Not one I'll seek again but I will be trying their other offerings.
