This one pours a dark reddish brown with a scant off-white head. In the aroma, burnt caramel, toffee maltiness but also some corn-like sweetness like you can normally pick up on from the likes of Miller, Coors, etc. Here it plays a background role. The flavor seems a bit off to me....not outright bad, just off. To me it seems like a really dark malt, or roasted barley is a little too prevalent, almost schwarzbier-like. The hops doesn't rear its head except to provide balancing bitterness. I'd choose this over several other Amber session brews.
Worth a try.
